I have two frames, both of which have auto layout applied to them. I’m trying to bring these frames together using auto layout, but when I right-click on my mouse to prompt the menu, only the option to remove auto layout is displayed. This was never an issue before. I was previously able to bring two frames together that had auto layout applied to them to build a component. However, now I’m only able to see the “remove auto layout” option when trying to bring both frames together.


I’m only able to do this now if I go to click on the main menu/objects/add auto layout.


I checked with my coworker with the same frames and Add Auto Layout shows up in the menu prompt when they have them selected and right click.

Hi there! Thanks for flagging this. Hmm this is odd that you don’t have the same settings than your co-worker. You should be able to add auto-layout in two frames.

I’m in the same boat. The auto layouts aren’t behaving like they used to in the app, but they’re working fine in the web version.

Hey there! Thank you also for flagging this. It works on my end both browser and desktop app but I may miss something 🤔.

As a first troubleshooting, can you try first to force-quit the app then clear out the cache (you can follow the steps here) to see if that helps?

I just got an email saying the Figma engineers fixed the issue. I’m can now add auto layout with right click menu prompt.
