Anytime I want to backspace, two characters are deleted instead of one character.

This is really annoying and I tried to search for a fix and looked through the menu but couldn’t find anything to fix it.

So I am not sure if this a bug or a feature but I need help with this please.

Is it specific to app or browser?

Is it only in Figma or did you check in MS Word etc?

If it’s in browser, certain extensions like tampermonkey can cause such issues. Try Incognito mode to verify.

Same issue going on here. Started last week.

Hey everyone here – I’m not noticing this problem on my end. For context: I’m on a mac, and tried on both the Chrome browser and desktop app.

Some questions similar to what @Vishal_Ramawat was asking:

  • What keyboard layout are you currently using?

  • What is the language input you have set for text? Are you using RTL text?

  • Have you made any recent changes, or added any new browser extensions or applications that may affect text input (textexpander, etc.). If you’re on a work computer, check with your IT team to see if they rolled anything new out to you.

Dell XPS laptop running Ubuntu 22. I use Figma on Firefox. US Intl keyboard layout. Not noticing the double backspace anywhere else, except for in-browser Figma.

When using Chrome, the issue is not present. So seems to be Firefox related.

Ah, got it. Yeah I agree it does seem firefox-oriented, but I’m not certain if there was an update to Firefox that may have broken something, or if it was a change on our end.

I can check in with our engineering team to see. I’ll try ti update if I get any info on my end.

Hey @Lex1 - can you update Firefox to the latest version and let me know if that clears this up? It looks like this may have been isolated to a specific version of Firefox on Ubuntu, and we’ve seen success when the app is updated.

Issue is fixed! 🎉 Thanks for the swift bug fix!

For anyone interested: I just updated Firefox through Snap on Ubuntu to version 125.0.2 and did a hard refresh (Ctrl + Shift + R) on Figma.

Yay! Thanks for letting me know ☺️ ❤️

I’ll close this topic since this is resolved, but feel free to open a new one if anything else comes up!
