I have an icon and text that appears in my file, but not in my prototype. Have tried restarting figma and also touching/ clicking the text and making changes to the text, but nothing appears still.

Could you clarify what you mean by correct frame? The entire box is actually 1 component from a separate design system file!
Got it, in this case it may be a bug and I would recommend you to report it to Figma support team via the bug report form, don’t forget to include the file link. Or you can share the link here, maybe someone on this forum would be able to figure out this mystery.
Got the same issue 5 minutes ago and tried to look for the answer online, then I played with the design again, moving the ‘missingbutnotsomissing’ text to another frame, get it out, and moved it back to the place before, and somehow it worked 😑
Had the same issue. I really do not know why this keeps happening but the texts layer is on top of the main page foe some reason. Simply drag the text layer below the main page, that’ll work.

had this issue and since I had this section grouped I un-grouped it and rewrote the text then it worked.

Check to see if “Fix position when scrolling” is marked for the layers in question. If so, unmark it. Worked for me.
