  1. Problem

    Like many designers, I enjoy working at night. But Figma’s white interface just burns out the eyes. Yes, you can change the background of the canvas and hide the Layers and Properties panels and work that way, but it’s still better when the panels are visible to quickly control the order in the file and manage various properties.




  2. Solution

    To solve the above problem, you need to add a native theme selection (System, Light or Dark). That way, depending on the operating system theme they choose or the theme they want to enforce, users will see what they want.

    The Electron API has a nativeTheme module that has a themeSource property. Thanks to this, you can control the choice of theme.

Dear devs, what’s so seriously wrong with You? You’re adding massive updates and changes like on a treadmill, but still ignore this years lasting request from Your community?


Aren’t You suppose to be the ones who listen to their community? It’s super annoying that Your App doesn’t support dark theme, I mean when You create a design app anywhere between 2015 - 2021, You create it first in Dark Mode, secondly You can stick it up with white eye retina destroying theme, if You want.


So seriously, what is wrong with You?

This is a request to please release an official version of dark mode for Figma. Sometimes we wok late at night and the white screen seems to be too harsh for the eyes at times. Being an avid dark mode user, expected Figma also had the same.


Would request to ship this dark mode feature out at the earliest possible. I am sure that there would be manny others awaiting the same as me.

This is not a “fancy” feature that we’re asking! It’s a request to stop discriminate against people with eyesight difficulties!

We should seriously consider hyping a hashtag #wewantdarkfigma in Figma’s Twitter, Youtube, Forum and community files.

It’s crazy there’s no dark mode yet.

Well, there’s no hope in Figma to add this feature.

Man I work in the night and I can really use dark mode. Figma has been releasing so many features, but for some reason dark mode isn’t a priority?!

Seriously, a web design tool for designing pages with Dark Mode, but the tool itself does not have dark mode?

Nuts that Figma does not have a dark mode!
