How do I add color to a Text Style in Figma?

Best answer by Finch

They’re kept separate.
You can change the text color by using a paint style.
You can’t set a color for a text style as such.

I’m bumping this thread. Figma has intentionally left out adding the color property in text styles.

Let’s say you want to change the font color of your link text or header, you have to go to every page and update every component. This totally defeats the purpose of having styles.

I would very much like to know why property has been left out - because I don’t buy the argument they have on their page.

I’m new to Figma and have been looking for this ability. It’s unfortunate that it’s not possible! Our default brand color is midnight blue and H4, H5, and H6 headings are light blue. This will require designers to remember this and will most likely cause issues. Sketch has this ability, why no Figma?
