I am having the same issue. Used to have Ctrl+Shift + Enter setup through the Appl custom shortcuts of mac for Go to main component. I stopped working like a week ago I believe altogether when Figma switched me to beta. I switched out since and tried a lot of things to try to make this work again without luck. Any adviser is appreciated. Super frustrating that there is no shortcut key for such a commonly needed action to begin with.
Same problems on Chrome Version 127.0.6533.99 (Official Build) (64-bit), Ubuntu.
The tip about selecting something in the Canvas and not the layers panel seems to be helping.
Also, I’m not able to use Enter or SHIFT+Enter to navigate the layers if I select an item in the Layers panel, but I could if I selected it in the canvas.
UI 3, on Mac Chrome browser. Work doesn’t allow the desktop app.
To everyone here:
I’ve been taking some of the duplicate topics that are related to this, and merging them into this one (so if you see yours here and confused why, it is because of this movement).
We’ve got an active bug ticket for this being investigated and worked on. I’m going to update everyone when I hear more.
How about we fix the issue instead of merging topics? And my issue is a completely separate issue, but sure, move it and ignore it forever now.
What could be the problem if my custom keyboard shortcuts in the Figma app on my Mac don’t work? I tried different key combinations and menu items, but nothing seems to work.
The setup should work as the shortcuts show up in the Figma menu, but still, nothing happens.
Same issues as most of commenters above - mac/sonoma 14.5, chrome latest.
Quick update for everyone here:
Our engineering team is digging into this, and believes this is connected to another issue involving the Chrome browser (deleting layers from the panel).
I don’t have any additional info just yet, but it’s being worked on now. I’ll update again when I hear anything new.
This has started working normally again for me this morning: all shortcuts in the layer panel appear to be functioning.
Yay! Thanks for confirming on your end @Alcinder – you beat me to it.
Everyone else: can you please try hard quitting Chrome, and trying again? This should now be fixed.
I just updated Chrome to Version 127.0.6533.120 and now the issue is gone. Finally!!! I’m guessing this was maybe a Google problem and maybe not a Figma one?
Oh my gosh, yes. Updating and restarting Chrome has done it!
Was this just purely a Chrome bug or some combination of Figma and Chrome?
Still having this issue after updating Chrome to Version 127.0.6533.120, macOS Sonoma 14.6.1
I restarted my computer. Did a hard quit on Chrome, logged out Figma and logged back in. This is still an issue for me.
Still an issue with Chrome 127.0.6533.120 on macOS 14.6.1.
I am also experiencing the issue again (version 127.0.6533.120). It was fine for a couple of days, but now the issue is back.
This problem has restarted again for me now
This problem is occurring for me as well.
I can confirm that the issue is back! Windows 11, Chrome Version 127.0.6533.120. So this is definitely a Figma issue since it worked two days ago with the same Chrome version and same Windows 11 setup.
Same issue here… Duplicating (Cmd + D) used to work but not it’s a shortcut to adding a bookmark.
Hey everyone, we’ve got an update from the team that this should be fixed now.
Can you please try refreshing your tabs to see the fix?
Please let me know if this works for you or if you’re still running into any issues.
Thanks,
Gayani
Mine is back to working as of this morning, yes!
Does the development team feel confident this is a solved problem now?
Bug solved for me as well
Hey @Jeff_Jacobs! Yes, so we got the update that this should be fixed now. But please do reach out if you should run into any issues. Thank you!
