I want my developer to be able to export images:



  • without me enabling “Allow viewers to copy, share, and export this file” (as it would let other viewers from duplicating the file)

  • without me giving him “Edit” permission (so that he doesn’t mess with the designs accidentally)

  • without me marking each individual layer for export


Ideal solution: Create a new access role for developers

+1 (Don’t have any votes left…)

It is about time Figma improves the role and permissions management.

We need dev roles or more granular permission settings.

Allowing every viewer (devs, clients, semi-involved third parties) in general to duplicate files is really problematic because in theory the work can be stolen very easily.
