Why does Figma keep asking me to publish changes/review changes?

Kevin_Chiang1

I’ve been using Figma for a while and no matter what team I’m on, project I’m doing, or library I’m editing, Figma always does the same thing.

It asks me to publish changes for design libraries, when no changes have been made for the past few hours…
It asks me to review and accept changes from design libraries, when no changes have been made for the past few hours too…

I would know, because I am the only one with access to that design library. Not sure why this happens all the time.

Hey All, sorry for the lack of acknowledgement here!

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact reason without seeing your files, but some of the most common causes include:

  • Conflicting fonts, causing the font version for text elements to change
  • Style naming changes
  • Page naming changes
  • Page/Section/Group changes

Keep in mind that any of the above changes made to a nested component will count as a change to the parent component.

If you’re collaborating with other editors, I recommend confirming that all editors accessing the file, are using the same version of font(s). More information on managing conflicting fonts here:

Sorry that we’re not able to provide a clearer breakdown on exactly what changes are being detected for each component that is being surfaced for publishing. For direct one-on-one help with this, please reach out to the support team directly via this form for help: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Be sure to use your Figma account email, include a link to the file, and share it with support-share@figma.com, so our technical quality team can take a closer look.

This sounds like a bug, so you might wanna share it with the Figma support team via the bug report form.

Have the same problem and filed a bug via the form

I am having a similar issue as well. I have it publishing two components over and over. These two have not been touched and constantly bring up the issue over and over.

Did anyone receive a fix or a reply from Figma support? I want to file a bug report but I cant get the permission from my company to share the file link. And it sounds like these are the same problems being experienced by multiple people in the Figma community
