Hello!

Is there a way to create an instance or a viewport of a frame from the same file in Figma? Essentially, I’m looking to have frame A1 that is the exact copy of frame A and update with any changes. I don’t want to create a component of my frame A because I would have to create a lot of them to make a whole flow.

How would I use it?

My team likes to have a representation of all the pages of our web app in a flow in one single page on Figma, for example Basket → Detail → Phone → Payment → Confirmation

But because our designs are complex and have a lot of variations, all designs are separate in our Figma file, eg one page for all variations of Basket.

Is there a way to do this in Figma Design, without using FigJam? For example, I have a file where I’m designing emails. Each email is a frame. I have another file where I am designing social media stories, each post is a frame. I have a third file that is a presentation for the campaign. In this file, I want to show the emails and socials. Ideally, these are “live previews” so that if I update hte email designs or social designs, the presentation file is automatically updated.

Hi there,

I think this is the perfect case of Component. Components are elements you can reuse across your designs. They help to create and manage consistent designs across projects.

You can create components from any layers or objects you’ve designed. These could be a whole range of things like buttons, icons, layouts, and more.

There are two aspects to a component:

  1. A main component defines the properties of the component.

  2. An instance is a copy of the component you can reuse in your designs. Instances are linked to the main component and receive any updates made to the component.

I hope this helps but please let us know if you have more questions.
