"Uncreate" Component | Revert Component Status w/o Undoing

I recently was working a lot with Smart-Animate to create prototype Animations to hand off to the devs.

I had this annoying Problem that if I had created a component, I was not able to revert the Component Status without undoing all the changes I had made to the Component/Variants.

I read about Plugins like “Detach Master” etc. but I wondered why this is not a built-in Feature.

Had this problem now a couple of times, anyone else stumbled upon this?

Hey @Jan_Kaczmarek, thanks for reaching out about this! It’s not possible at this moment to detach a Master Component, only Instances.

If you want to detach / revert something that’s been a Component for a while I suggest you:

  1. Create an Instance of the new Component.
  2. Detach the Instance from the Component.
  3. Delete the Original Component.
