Dear Figma community. I’m so confused.
I just want to have a master page of master components that I can use in my designs.
I just discovered, however, that when you copy art from one file to another, all the instances lose their connections to the master components. What the actual frik?
I have a master file with styles and components all set up. So… really? I can’t just copy pieces of designs from one file to another and evolve them using the master components?
What do y’all do? Create a new file, and then start from scratch each time, rebuilding your designed pages from scratch, using the asset library?
Or have one massive file with a new page for every project so that you can still design by copying artboards and evolving them without having to recreate them each time? If so, then how the frik do you share them with developers? I’d like to make a separate file to share so the dev doesn’t have to wade through a bunch of pages. etc.
Basically… why am I on a professional plan then? I guess so that anyone can have to recreate each design over and over again from the component library I’ve created?
Signed,
Confused.
