Question

Create links to specific screen views within a project

Georg_Brennwald

As I’m writing a product documentation I feel like exporting screens from figma and pasting into my documentation will be too static, as the screens will change over time.

Now following another persons cursor is a great feature within Figma. Is it possible to save a specific view and create a link that will lead to that exact screenview within the Figma project?
And one step further: if that view could appear in an iframe.
That would be an amazing way to link designs with a documentation.

Is that possible in some way?

Thanks!

Hi Georg, were you able to figure anything out with this? I’d like to do the same

Hi @Georg_Brennwald! To maintain live updates from your screens in Figma, I would recommend embedding out the frame, file, or prototype. Many browser-based applications (listed in that article I linked) will automatically show the embed in an iframe upon pasting the link, but if not, you can always grab the embed code. If you want the embed to show just a specific frame, make sure to check the box “Link to selected frame” in the share modal. I hope this helps!
