I heard about this issue from a couple of other users yesterday so you are probably facing a bug and need to report it to Figma support team via support@figma.com or the support request form.

I have facing this issue since last update was on Wednesday i was unable to drag and import any kind of file (png,jpeg,and svg) in Figma desktop app the problem is occurs in desktop app i have tried reinstalling it and even with new exe but nnn.hmm .
Fill the bug report form, attach a video. The community forum can’t fix bugs.
