Why radius handle not appear?

I find that sometimes the radius handle doesn’t appear when making a new shape. Also, even with the existing shape that I made, the radius handle sometimes does not appear in the shape so I have to type the numer one by one. Can anyone explains this?

Adjusting handles disappeared (border radius, several text items)

Border radius control handles appear only for Rectangle, Polygon, Star objects. If you don’t see these handles, it may mean that the object has been flattened or the object is small for the current canvas scale.
