Today I received a Figma project that contains a link to a phishing threat. The link was sent through a coworker's email, It seems like his account was compromised. The scammer linked a Figma project and emailed it to all his contacts, since we worked together I opened the figma project, and found another link inside of the figma project, that 2nd link contained a phising threat which my antivirus blocked. This made me think; is there a way to “report” figma projects that pose a security risk to the users? I couldn't find a button to “report project” or something similar. It would be helpful if once identified someone could take those Figma projects down.
It would be great if you could see a colour variables hex code when assigning a variable to an elements fill / stroke.
Hello all, Struggling a bit to achieve a very common pattern on the web with overlays (popovers). Let’s say there is component X (button for example), that when mouse entered and stayed hover for a certain time (let’s say 250ms), an overlay should open from that component (let’s say a menu). That is achievable in Figma today using mouse enter > open overlay (but delay is unsupported unfortunately). Now on the web, the user expects the overlay to close when they either move the mouse out of the original component and NOT over the overlay, from the overlay to outside of it, or if they click something inside the overlay menu. This seems not possible to do achieve in Figma, or am I missing something ? I can activate “close on click outside” on the overlay, fine, but it’s not the same… I can add a close overlay when mouse leaves but I have to add this on the overlay itself, not the original component, and I don’t find a way to also close overlay if mouse moves away from component X. I’m a new Figma user and I’m building pages based on Figma mock-ups. I have only view access to the Figma design, and I can’t figure out how to export the background image of a frame while preserving the crop exactly as it appears in Figma. When I export the frame itself, all content visible within the frame (text, buttons, etc.) is exported - i.e. it exports the framed region exactly as it appears. I want only the background image, but unlike this thread, I want just the portion of the background image that appears within the frame. Is this possible? It seems like it would be a common need, but I can’t figure it out.
I’m encountering some issues with Figma; regardless of whether the file has many pages or few, the operations are very laggy. I’ve tried changing my network and using a VPN, but neither has made a significant difference. What should I try now?
Why is Figma all of a sudden just slamming the memory and battery on my MacBook Air M1 with 16GB RAM? It started maybe a week ago and I can barely work anymore. I've provided some screenshots that show just how many Figma processes are open and how ridiculously expensive they all are. Memory consumption, 9 processes Energy consumption
Can we get a true aspect ratio lock when the ‘Constrain Proportions’ is on? A true aspect ratio lock means two things: When dragging on a node with ‘constrain proportions’, its width and height always stay in their original ratio no matter which direction you drag it. When resizing on the parent of a node with ‘constrain proportions’ that happens to be constrained, the node takes on the smallest of its supposed width and height, and calculates its ratio accordingly. This would be so very helpful to polygon shapes that want to stay in that shape. Consider a spider chart. When you resize its parent, you don’t want the ‘spider net’ to squish squash; neither will you want a doughnut to turn into an oval. *Resizing of the node’s parent layer is inevitable if you need responsive designs.
Hi, I’m not sure if this is new since the May update, but I wonder why “empty” (all elements hidden) Auto Layout Frames keep the size of the last hidden child (and I do not mean last in the list, but the last element to have been toggled out of view by the user), making them not-0px high even with nothing in them. See here a file with a Frame with three hidden rectangle: the Frame keeps the size of the last child rectangle to have been hidden. When adding a 0-px Frame to the AL frame, and toggling this 0-px Frame off last, the container goes 0-px. In my opinion, empty AL Frames should have a height of 0. What do you think?
I have old components showing up in an updated and published library. These components have already been removed from the library. There are no instances of the component in the library. See the attached photo. The icons with the white background are old/removed. If I click on the icon with the white background and ‘go to main component’ it just brings me to the library but there’s no component in the library…
I am using Google’s Material 3 UIKit for a project, but would like to alter styles to the project’s needs. How can i copy the UIKit with all it’s styles to use it as a local library so that i can change the library as needed? (I am on the starter plan)
Hi! I currently use “Professional” plan, and I purchased 2 seats, for me and my developer. My question is - Should we both have “Professional” plan so that my developer will have access to my drafts(with all the Properties visible, etc.)? Or I can just have the “Professional” plan for myself and give my developer editing rights? Or may be my developer should be on the “Professional” plan (and have access to all Properties), while I stay on the basic plan? Just trying to figure out the best option. Thank you!
Text words fine itself with just auto layout However, when I try to create components for header and body copy and put it into an auto layout, the width and heigh of the text does not fit to the frame and text height does not adjust accordingly. Issue Issue Text Properties Text Properties
is there a way to create a figma prototype where you can resize components in prototype mode? i’m trying to resize components on drag (i.e. stretch navigation bar)
I’ve gone through all the memory/performance improvement steps for the desktop app. The only thing I haven’t done is break up my files. To be clear. These very same files worked just fine prior to UI3. So I don’t think the problem is really the files. The only way I can break up my component lib (which is smaller than any I’ve seen in the community) would be to put variables in one lib, text styles in another, inputs in another, etc. The only way I can make my files smaller would be to only have 1 page per file. Most of the performance threads I’ve seen are around specific issues or prototypes. My performance issues are with any and every aspect of Figma. Loading files being the most annoying. I’m also on an M2 Ultra Mac Studio with 192 GB of memory. It’s not my setup. Is UI3 just worse all around on memory?
