Why do I get notifications & emails for non-tagged comments in any file inside our Team?

I’ve honestly been annoyed with this for a while now. I get everyone’s comments, and I think everyone else gets my comments too regardless of the @ tagging feature.

I just don’t understand. Sometimes you want to just have a private “@name here it is over here” comment or a private back and forth between you and the person you’ve tagged, but nope.

I get emails all the time (and my notifs panel is flooded) of comments that don’t even have anything to do with me but by instinct, I always first think it’s for me so I waste my time by checking the file.

This is one of my top reasons on why I don’t even use the comment feature anymore.

Bumping this topic.
I noticed that it’s mostly with document where I am set as the owner, so I created the document at some point. But even when I transfer ownership I still get all the notifications. Would be nice to be able to disable notifications per document unless specifically tagged.

I’m also experiencing the same issue as you. I recently switched projects with a peer and we switched ownership for our project files but we’re still getting notifications/email updates about our old files.
