When I’ve added text in Korean into my designs, when I go to view the prototype on a device, the text disappears. It seems to be exasperated by components, when I break the instances sometimes the text will come back.
Other languages I’ve used, like Traditional Chinese don’t really have this issue, or if they do it resolves itself on reload. Korean does not. I’ve had this happen on 2 separate projects, so I don’t think it’s an isolated issue. Is this a bug? Or is it the font?
Hi @Lisette_Fall-Conroy, Thank you for reaching out about the issue with Korean text. It does sound a bit buggy, and I’d like to help you troubleshoot this as much as we can.
Could you please specify where this issue occurs? Is it in the browser, desktop app, mobile browser, or mobile app?
I saw some cases that sometime user need to login to Figma before viewing the prototype to be seen correctly. If you haven’t tried this yet, could you please log into Figma and check if the issue persists when viewing the prototype?
Additionally, could you try using different Korean fonts to see if the problem might be font-dependent, as you mentioned?
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, I recommend reaching out directly to our support team for further investigation here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
When reaching out, it would be helpful to provide:
- Your Figma account email address.
- A direct link to the file, pointing out any specific frames affected by this issue, and invite support-share@figma.com with “can edit” permissions (note that this won’t impact your billing).
- A quick video recording of the issue.
- List of troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
I hope these suggestions help. Please let us know if I misunderstood anything.
Also, if anyone from our community has any additional suggestions or insights, we’d love for you to share them!
Thanks,
