We shipped 10 updates to Figma Slides in 10 days based on your feedback:

1. Layers panel in grid mode: adjust layers in slide mode and grid mode.

When in Design mode, the Layers panel is only accessible in ‘Slide view’ but not in ‘Grid view’ !

2. Keyboard shortcut to access design mode: hit SHIFT-D to turn on design mode in Figma Slides and access your Figma Design favorites like autolayout, size/position, vectors and more.

Lost the Layers Panel in a Figma Slides presentation while in the Slide view. I can see the Layers panel in Grid view, though. I had the Layers panel before in Slide view, but now it’s gone, and I can’t find how to retrieve it (or even how I changed the settings).

3. Text styles in design mode: add and edit text styles in slide mode and design mode.

Am i missing something here or i just can’t create a custom grid size ? Or would it be related to the fact that we can’t create custom presentations with pro plans ? It’s strange since we can have custom colors (the same way Figma design does). Also, you can use different text styles but can’t create your own.

4. Right arrow plays videos: click the right arrow on your keyboard to advance slides and play videos.

We have a video in our slide, but while presenting, there didn’t seem to be a way to restart the video (or pause it for that matter) - while running through the presentation to practice, we discovered that there were a few times when we’d get to that slide and the video would be halfway through already. Also, why is the Presenter Notes a thin grey bar at the bottom? That took us forever to find. . Maybe add “Show Presenter Notes” to the Figma > View menu?

5. Save grid styles: get future decks off the ground faster with saved layout grid styles.

6. Rulers: show rulers in pixels in the Slides editor.

7. Add all slides from a template: include all slides from a template when creating a deck, rather than adding them one by one.

9. More transition controls: customize duration, change your easing curve, and switch your trigger to a delay.

Just like Microsoft Powerpoint, we should be able to add duration for the transitions between our slides to make it not look like we are in a hurry. Currently, I think the default duration is 500ms and it’s too fast for me. I want to make it gently transition from one slide to another. The animations are great, but if you could also add more transitions, it would make it even more better.

10. Hide slides: hide specific slides so they don’t appear in presentation mode, but still remain in your deck.

Currently trying Slides and loving it! One thing I will really love is to have “hide slide” or “skip slide”. Besides having different versions to review in the end, but also to be able tailor contents for different audiences. Looking forward to sharing this tool to my non-designer coworkers!
