Hey Hadar, I tested this on my end and it works in the browser and the desktop app.
Could you tell me if this is happening in the browser or the desktop app? Or both ?
If this is happening in the desktop app, could you try clearing your app’s cache and see if that helps?
You can clear the desktop app cache on a Mac in the Help menu under Troubleshooting. If you’d prefer to manually clear your cache you can:
- Quit the Figma desktop app
- Open Terminal.app and enter the following command:
rm -rf "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Figma"
- Try opening the desktop app again
You can clear the desktop app cache on Windows under the toggle-arrow at the right of the top toolbar under Help > Troubleshooting. If you’d prefer to manually clear your cache you can:
- Close the Figma desktop app
- Open the Start menu, and paste in this, followed by enter:
%APPDATA%\Figma
- In the window that opens, delete the
Desktop
andDesktopProfile
folders if they exist - Launch the desktop app again
If that doesn’t help, can you also try closing out the app and restarting your computer?
Hi, I have the same issue, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. It happens often enough that it annoys me too.
I only use the desktop app.
Hey there, sorry for the issues! Have you tried clearing the desktop cache? Also closing out and restarting the app? If you’re still having issues let us know I can get you connected to our technical quality team.
Hello I am having this same issue and have tried all of the above.
Hey @Emma_Worsley, thank you for reaching out!
Could you please send me a screen recording on what you’re seeing on your end?
You might have the spellcheck disabled. You can see in my screen recording how I am enabling it.
Let me know if this works for you, thank you!
I am having this same issue. The problem is there is no right click menu that is accessible. Also in the desktop app and I have to bring the content out of Figma into another doc and correct there and then copy back over. Really frustrating. Tried all the above steps. Again the problem is there simply is no menu accessible when text is selected and ctrl clicked (Mac 14.3)
Found the solution - for some strange reason there is a preferences option that must be enabled that ctrl-click enables context menu. Mine was not enabled thus causing the problem. That is a bizarre feature but I am glad it’s fixed!
Thanks Seth this works well. @Figma not sure what advantage of this feature to what is a global software way of spell checking.
