I’m using Figma Slides and some screens have basic interactions:
one shows a PNG of a screen that can be scrolled vertically
one has a video
If I only select the “Present” option from the play button menu, the interactions work. If I select “Present + Notes”, they don’t work in either view; the slides seems to be entirely static and nothing will move or play.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? Unfortunately I have to show the presentation soon.
Hello @Kate20, Thank you for getting in touch about this!
We haven’t been able to replicate the issue by adding prototypes to slides. Could you kindly provide a video recording showing the issue you are facing?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon! If anyone in our community has any additional suggestions on this, please feel free to share them.
Standard Figma response. Immediate dismissal. Didn’t read the issue. Blame the user. Push it off to “send us a video,” knowing the user will abandon the support ticket.
There was a time when Figma support would access your file and help you figure it out.
Hi @Kate20, Thank you for sharing the video with us. It has been very helpful.
Upon testing on my end, I noticed that when you simply copy a frame with Horizontal scroll behavior from Figma Design and paste it directly into Figma Slides, it appears to be scrollable only for “Present”.
I’ll check internally to see if we have any information with this.
Meanwhile, could you please review the instructions on how to add a prototype to a slide below (using Live interaction in the toolbar) and give it a try to see if your prototype functions correctly when using “Present + Notes” as well.
Add interactive prototypes to slides > Add a prototype to a slide
I hope this information is helpful. If I have misunderstood anything, please feel free to let us know.
Also, If anyone from our community has any additional suggestions or insight, feel free to share here.
Just for context, this happened because I copied an entire presentation that already existed in a design file into a new Slides file to add speaker notes. So I copied the whole frame of the slide, not just the part that scrolled. It is also an issue for vertical scrolling.
I’ve escalated this issue to our internal team, and they are currently investigating. However, it may take some time.
In the meantime, please try the workaround I mentioned earlier.
