I’m seeing that there should be the ability to share a link to a particular section, but I’m not seeing the checkbox that was mentioned in the UI.
Can someone either let me know if this is no longer possible or if I’m just missing something?

In the Share dialog, the “Link to selection” checkbox is on the bottom, to the right of “Get embed”.
It’s the same for literal sections (containers with the label top left) and frames.
Or you could do cmd-L which copies the file link and goes directly to what was selected.
