I am working with an employee who experienced complications with gaining access to Figma causing her to have to be removed and added back. She has lost her files and is unaware of how to have them restored. May we get assistance?
Hi @Dishika_J_Pempleston, Thank you for getting in touch with us about this matter. I totally get why you’re concerned.
Could you give us a bit more insight into what’s going on with her? Specifically, I’m wondering if she was removed from your organization and then added back again.
Here’s a quick rundown of what happens when someone is removed from an organization:
- Shared files: Any person who has edit access to the files can continue to have access.
- Drafts: Their draft files become accessible to organization admins in “Admin” > “Unassigned drafts”
Therefore, if the file was shared, she can consider asking another editor to add her back, or if it’s a draft, you could check with an Admin to see if the file is accessible there.
For more in-depth explanation, please take a moment to read through our articles:
If the article doesn’t clear things up, it would be best for her to reach out to our support team directly over here: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360005944714
When she contacts us, please make sure she includes the following details:
- The email associated with her Figma account
- The links to any files that have gone missing
In case she’s having trouble finding those file links, she might be able to retrieve them from:
- Her web browser history
- Any previous chats where the file might have been shared with colleagues
- The ‘File > Recently Closed’ section if she’s using the Figma desktop app
Hope it helps! Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.
Thanks again for reaching out.
