Replacing default icons not possible

I’m using the Material 3 UI Kit and trying to replace the default icons (e.g. from a navigation drawer). If I try to paste a vector icon (from the material icons plugin), I can’t move it inside the state-layer, where the default circle icon resides. I have no clue how to do this.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I believe the best way to get ‌support for this specific plugin is to reach out to the creator. It looks like there’re some ways to ping https://www.figma.com/community/file/1035203688168086460/material-3-design-kit

Having said that, I just looked into the kit a little bit, and have you tried ‘Go to main component’ of the icon (attached)? Once you click it, you can go to where the main component lives.

To replace the circle icon under navigation drawer, you’d need to create an instance of the component that you created in vector. This article might help you to swap instances, so I hope it helps: https://help.figma.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039150413-Swap-components-and-instances

I hope this could solve the problem!

Thanks,
Toku

I needed to detach the instance of the icon.
Thanks for the reply.
