Issue with Inner Shadow Not Displaying in Figma 124.0.2

Alejandro_Mendoza

Hi everyone,

I’ve encountered an issue with Figma’s inner shadow effect not displaying after the latest update. This problem persists both in the desktop application (version 124.0.2) and in the browser version.

Previously, I used inner shadows extensively in my designs, but now they seem to be invisible or not rendering correctly. I’ve checked my settings and layers, but the problem persists across different files and projects.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If so, have you found any workarounds or solutions? Any insights or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Ale.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I checked on my end and it looks like working properly.

I also noticed you’ve reached out to our support team, which is great! As you await their response, could you perhaps try the following troubleshooting steps?

  • Close any Figma tabs you’re not using
  • Browser : Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
  • Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it. If the issue persists, try clearing the cache.

If the issue persists, please keep in contact with our support team! They’ll look into it.

I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Toku

Hi Toku, thanks for your reply. I’m using the desktop app, but the issue happens with browser too. So I’ve tried cleaning the cache for the desktop app (I didn’t know it was possible, thanks for the advice), but the issue still goes on… This is a screenshot of what I see, so this is a table, in the bottom, the inner shadow should be there, but it’s not being displayed:

Thanks for sharing! There should be the bottom line in this setting. I observed Ryan is responding to you, so I hope it will be fixed!

Thanks,
Toku

Hi there Toku,
Yes, I’m in touch with Ryan. We’ve found a workaround, it’s related to the Hardware Acceleration feature. So, if Hardware Acceleration is enabled, then those inner shadow effects aren’t being displayed, but if Hardware Acceleration is disabled, they’re there.

I’ll keep posted here of any updates.

Thanks!

Ale.
