Hi all,
I am trying to mask a component within Figma but it doesn’t seem to work. Instead, the entire component is shown, and in the layers component the line that indicates what content the mask is masking stops below the component.

Select the instance layer and uncheck the “Clip content” property.

This is very helpful but I have no idea why it would work this way. Is there an explanation for why instances don’t act like other objects here?

No seriously, it’s a good question, makes no sense… can anyone explain the logic?
