Hello @Miles_Savelli-Holt, Thank you for reaching out about this matter and welcome to our community!
By default, anyone with “can view” access to a file can copy its contents, and anyone with “can edit” access can paste objects in a file. You can find more details in this article: Copy and paste objects
However, if restrictions are applied to a file, individuals with “can view” access, including those specifically invited or joining via a shared link, cannot copy its contents. You can learn more about here: Restrict copying and sharing on files
Please ensure that you have the appropriate access for these files and that there are no restrictions in place.
If you still encounter difficulties after reviewing the above information, you can try the following quick fixes:
Browser: Force-quit and open Figma in a new browser window.
Desktop App: Force-quit the Figma Desktop app and restart it.
The URL of the file you are trying to copy from and to
Attach a short video of this happening - please include the entire Figma window, showing both the left and right panels, with relevant layers expanded, and select any Frames you are experiencing issues with.
Thanks for the information. I had another go and managed to figure it out!
Copy and Paste doesn’t appear under File > Edit, which was where I was getting confused.
But if I touch and hold an element on my screen (which is a tablet), a new menu appears and Copy and Paste shows up. It also shows if I connect my bluetooth mouse and right click with the element selected.
