How do you add frames/shapes into an auto-layout frame quickly?

Hey there,

I’m a long-time Figma user and all these years I’m suffering from a UX decision the Figma team made on how new elements are added into frames.

All I want to do is to add an element to an existing frame but in most cases when that frame already has other nested frames or groups it would place the new item inside one of those frames instead of just adding it to the parent. It always adds the frame to the child frame that exists in the spot where I click-to-add, instead of adding it to the selected parent.

Is there really no way to just add a new element to the parent frame either at the very top or the very bottom, or at least in a random place? A shortcut would be even better. But being able to add a frame exactly to the parent frame I need it to be added to is crucial. It takes so much time to move elements out of nested illustrations and groups and it ruins the workflow and the whole experience for me.
