in this figma file it seems like the two texts in the first line are behaving the opposite way - when you do align top it actually align bottom and vice versa. what am i missing?
when i created a new text field (the second row) it seems to be working fine.

Increase the height of the text box and you will see that everything works as expected.

thanks. however it seems like there is a margin in the top of the text that i still don’t understand why it exist.

That’s because that’s the way the font is designed. Some details you can find here:

Our team has investigated this issue, and it’s likely not a bug.
Figma uses the whole vertical size to position middle alignment, so if the glyphs of a certain font are unusually top/bottom aligned already, they’ll look strange.
