How can I better organize all of my Figma files. Currently, everything I have ever created is just listed in chronological order. I would like to organize in folders. I have read that I can organize in projects but I don’t see how to do that. How do I create projects within a project? For example, I would like to have a project named “Hospital” where I put all of the designs I do for the hospital. Underneath/inside hospital, I would like to have sub folders/projects like Posters Mobile Apps Intranet Designs Website Designs Is this possible?
Hi Figma Team! 👋 I have a few ideas that could improve Figma and make it even more versatile: 1️⃣ Add a new Instagram post frame – Currently, Figma includes the standard 1080×1080 size, but another widely used format is 1080×1350 (portrait format). It would be great to have this as a preset option. 2️⃣ Allow users to create custom frames – Sometimes, I need to create frames with specific dimensions, such as an A4 300 DPI frame for print. Having the ability to set custom resolutions and other parameters would be very useful and safe for next time use 3️⃣ Improve optimization for printing – Enhancing rendering and print preparation would help maintain high quality and ensure colors are print-friendly. I’d love to see these features in Figma! Thanks for all your great work 💙
With the interactive components, a variant can now have a tooltip. But unfortunately hover and clickactions are still mutual exclusive. I’m designing for a desktop application and having a tooltip per inputelement/button is crucial.
After trying to fix my settings on an old mac os, I somehow added a frequently visited toolbar which appears where the search engine usually would. I’ve unticked the frequently visited and the screen is at max, so it wasn’t covered. I’ve tried everything by looking at websites on my phone and many of the options they suggest choosing - such as settings/view …. but in my mac, view doesn’s appear under settings. (Lots of these examples). I’ve rebooted. Only managed to log into google because the icloud website appears in the problematical toolbar and I changed the search. Also can’t find word count in Pages for love nor money - same issues as above eg of settings/view. Thanks so much! Nicki
I am working on a project that involves pixel art. Due to the nature of the project, it is important that assets exported by Figma are unaltered from their original source images. Until recently, there were no problems: Figma exported PNGs identical to the assets originally uploaded. However, today we have discovered the any new file uploaded to Figma is being exported with pixelated results. Here are screen shots showing the difference between the source image and the one Figma exports. As you can see, the Figma-exported file appears to have been anti-aliased or gone through some other image processing that has generated a large number of new pixels in new colours/transparencies. If you look at the palette on the right, you can see that the original image only contains a handful of colours, while Figma’s new image contains many, many more. These differences might not be apparent when exporting, say, a photograph--but they are very obvious on these small pixel art PNGs. At first I thou
Is it possible to export responsive layout html+css that includes media queries (for the available viewports of my design, e.g., desktop, tablet, mobile, code from Figma? Best,Filipp

With the new update, we have a great new feature, but unfortunately, it’s not usable with our component structure. Exposing all props of a nested instance also exposes props that we don’t want in the context of the consuming component. What if we could also select which properties to expose? This would lead to a cleaner sidebar with only valid props.
I’m having an issue with creating a reusable list component that can have various amounts of list items that scrolls correctly. I created a list item component group with 15 list items, embedded that into a list item drop down. I was hoping to just hide list items in that drop down component instance but the issue I’m having is the container keeps the original height which leaves a large white space at the bottom of my scroll. How can I create this without having to make a list item component variant for each number if list items I need and have it scroll correctly? (This works but seems insane)
It would be great if the professional plan offered more than 4 variable modes. Right now I want to set up a mode for each component size-- XS - XL, 5 sizes all together-- which puts me over the 4 limit for pro, but well under the 40 limit for enterprise, which is a quantity I will never need. And there’s no use case for enterprise at all for a team our size. I think 10-12 modes for pro would be perfect to give small teams like mine room to grow before we reach the scale where an enterprise plan would be worth consideration.
Hello, I only use Figma on the web, I can’t use the desktop app due to my computer macOS version. I have installed the Figma Font Installer, and it says that I can use local fonts on the web, but this is not working. Any solutions? Best,
Description: Currently, Figma allows switching between different Modes (e.g., Light/Dark) within a single variable collection. However, there is no built-in functionality to switch between entire Variable Collections dynamically. This limitation makes it challenging to manage multiple themes efficiently, especially in large-scale design systems where different themes (e.g., Default, Gaming, Minimal, Custom) share a common structure but require separate sets of values. Proposed Feature: Collection Switching We propose adding an option that allows users to switch entire Variable Collections in the same way they can switch Modes. This would enable designers to define multiple themes and toggle between them seamlessly without needing to manually update Aliases or duplicate components. How It Would Work: Collection Selector: Similar to the Mode switcher, users can select a Collection (e.g., Theme 1, Theme 2, Custom Theme) from a dropdown in the Variables panel. Automatic Updates: When switc
I created variables for font sizes and line height. I then created styles that use those variables. An issue is present if you have different styles for mobile and desktop. Styles the first values for the first mode listed which leads to incorrect values displayed. In the attached video you can see the font size and line height are are 48 & 51.5, but the values displayed in the style section are 54 & 54. Detached style displaying font size 48 & line height 51.5 Style showing font size 54 & line height 58
Have been searching for solutions to this but cannot find any. Since moving to a newer Macbook Air 13.6 inch, fit width no longer actually fits width, nor does fill screen or fit to screen. I have a black border all around the prototype regardless of which setting I use for this. Any solutions or has anyone else had this issue? Using Chrome, using the web version of Figma, only change has been that my laptop has a newer screen size than before. Thanks
