Fastest way to open a file?

I often use CMD+K in Slack/Spotify to open search. And for sure CMD+Space in OSX finder.

I know Figma has CMD+/ to search the local file.

What if that index was broadened to all files?

Ex: I want to quickly open a command panel and type the name of the file. On enter, open. If it’s currently open, change tabs. If it’s not open, open in new tab.

This would be extremely helpful. Or at very least focus the input field when I press CMD+O
