I’m trying to align two objects in different groups but in the same frame, and for some reason the center align just throws both objects completely off. Weirdly enough, left/right align still works completely fine. Screen recording link is at the end.
I’m not sure if this is Figma trying to align it to something else, but I’m not holding down shift while aligning so it’s definitely not aligning it to the frame’s center. Plus, left and right align is working like usual anyways.
Pretty sure this is reproducible 100% of the time when selecting two objects with different parent frames. Selecting text from a section and a frame from outside the section now has different alignment behavior than before — and different behavior than when you select two things in the same parent. Hopefully it’s a bug.
Thanks for getting back! Yeah it looks odd to me too and I’ve shared this behavior with our internal team. I’ve found an existing post about this, so let me merge this into the existing one. Thanks!
Hello, Im only using Figma through the app. On mac Ventura. And did all the quit restart and it’s not solved.
Here an example: you select 2 images on different frames, then press Align Left and the second image is how the align left works.
@Marite_Sganga – I’m going to recommend everyone refer to the topic @chyn_N posted above for any additional updates. I’m going to tentatively close this topic so we can keep everything in one place. I’ll reopen if this ends up moving away from that investigation.
