Can't edit my shared team files

I’m currently facing an issue with our team access. It appears that our team has been locked because we’ve reached the limits of our current Starter Plan, after the recent subscription plan changes. As a result, I am unable to make any further changes.

Could anyone please provide more details on this and guide me on how we can resolve the issue or upgrade to an appropriate plan? Your assistance in addressing this matter at the earliest would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, welcome to the community! You can upgrade your team to a Professional plan by following the steps in this article:

Figma Learn - Help Center

(As a reminder, when you upgrade a team to the Professional plan , your subscription is calculated based on the number of paid seats in that team.) I hope this helps!

Hi there! You need to manage their seats by selecting Full to upgrade them to a paid seat and allow them to edit Figma design files.

Here’s how a team admin can manage someone’s seats, and inspect details about when and how they upgraded.
(Reminder: to access Admin , you need to be a team admin on the Professional plan.)

  1. From the left sidebar of the file browser, click Admin.
  2. If required, select the Members tab.
  3. Navigate to the person you’d like to manage and click their Design or FigJam seat type.
  4. Select a different seat type according to the options below.

For the design seat, click their current Design seat and take one of the following actions:

  • Select Viewer-restricted to downgrade them to a free Design seat. This means they’ll be able to view files they have access to, but won’t be able to edit them.
  • Select Full to upgrade them to a paid seat and allow them to edit Figma design files.

Figma Learn - Help Center

I hope this clarifies!

For this process, in the Professional plan, a business email is not required to upgrade.
(It is only required in the Organization and Enterprise plans.)
