As I understand it, in figma you can invite to view-only or edit files, but when added to a team as “edit” all members can edit everything?
I have a team in figma, most members at not at a level to be editing the design system yet.
Is there a way to lock edits and just allow read-only on design system files to a few members?

Depending on what plan you are. i.e., we are on an org plan. And we have a team only for DS files. His access is secret. That means you need to be invited to see that team’s content. And only a few designers and Design ops have access to that team.
On the pro plan, there is no option to do that.
I only have team plan 
so looks like only way I can do it is police my users…as my workplace would not upgrade to organisation.
