It would be a huge benefit to be able to visually toggle on and off showing auto layout padding. Similar to showing grid, rows and columns.

Do you mean showing the 4 sides input controls by default? Would it overlap nested groups too? I could see it getting messy quickly, but it could be nice as an option.
