Reset specific parts of an instance

Alex172

Would be nice to have a feature that allows to reset specific parts of an instance:

  • Shadow
  • Background color of a container
  • Border of a container
  • ...

You can actually reset some specific properties like fill, text, text style, stroke or effect. Just select the object you need inside the instance and choose the reset option

I’ve reset so many components because I couldn’t reset a specific thing!! It’s frustrating.

I remember a feature like this from Sketch, right? It would literally show you all the overrides and then have a “reset” icon (rewind) to show that you can reset/rewind that override. Otherwise you don’t even know what you can reset.

I’ve now checked that you also support DEEP element resets, but this isn’t very obvious.

For example:

You create a component with a hidden (opacity:0) colored tag that only appears on hover. When you change the tag color on multiple instances you can’t easily see the sub-frame changes you made in one place, so you have to manually drill down to that sub-frame, e.g. tag color and THEN click the three dots (:) on that menu of the component and the RESET that appears is NOT related to the parent component, but to the currently selected PART of the main component, e.g. the tag color fill color, and then the menu shows that sub-frame as having a fill that can be reset.

This deep sub-frame override is NOT shown at the top level when you do it with the component selected, so I think the entire override mechanism should kind of have a panel showing all the overrides and a reset icon next to each of them to reset and remove them from this override section.
