Multiple Flows Should Have Different Device Frames

I have an alternative solution as well.

  1. Add a " Flow starting point " to each of the frame that have different frame sizes (ie. the mobile will have it’s own starting point, the desktop will have its own starting point).
  2. Once done, click outside the frame anywhere on the canvas to unselect any frame.
  3. Then under " Prototype " change " Device" to " Presentation (Fill) "
  4. Now preview your designs. The preview size will follow the frame size.

The alternatives arent good enough because we literally need different prototype devices for different flows especially when it is screen size specific so that scrolling would work properly.

I’m actually very surprised that this feature isnt supported.

Yes please!

Williams_Chris_LTPD

Yes please.

A prototype example which would benefit from this:

Web-based Dashboard then jumps to a Mobile Device which shows changes that were set on the Web Dashboard.

Thank you Figma.

Surprised to see that this has not been updated in the last Prototype update 😦

Why is this still not possible? The workaround are not satisfying for frames higher than the actual device…

Gabby_Valdespino

Is this something that is in Figma’s product roadmap? Seems like a lot of us would really like this feature. Life saver 🙏🏾

Yes please! 🤞

Jake_Patrick

This is needed so badly. Maintaining files and prototypes to share with clients without this just results in so many pages…

+1, I’ll add another use case I’ve been looking for a solution to - when I review iterations with stakeholders following user testing, I like to show the prototypes side by side - on the left, what participants of the user study saw, and on the right, what improvements were made based on the learnings. Having a before and after presented on the screen side by side really helps everyone engage in the discussion.

Still looking forward to this feature. Doing a new concept now and having separate pages for the same content seems… unnecessary.

Solomon_Sojirin

Exactly the that’s problem, it make you feel like you’ve not achieved what you actually wanted.

David_Werkt

This is a must have! 🙏

Jeroen_Vos

should have! Needed…

Really need this feature! The workarounds just don’t really work!

Caroline_Collins

This is table stakes. An absolute must not only for responsive but showing a prototyped user journey across multiple devices. PLEASE add this.

Jon_Alling

+1 for this.

My workaround is using different pages within a Figma doc for different screen sizes. Each page can have its own device setting, and then a separate prototype page. It works for now, but too much jumping around for clients.

Dmytro_Korendovych

+1 for this.

This is the first time for me when Figma is missing something that I need.

Ryan_Senese

This is a crucial feature for my job, where we are switching between different devices. The workaround I am using is to upload a separate frame for each device and bypass Figma’s internal device frame entirely.

Another vote for the option to choose device frames for each flow.

😍 would love to have this tiny yet huge option

Mischa_Demarmels

This seems an obvious one, right? I need this too! 🙂

Glen_Lipka

Isnt this feature finished already? Do they mark them as done?
