When working with slides in Figma, I often accidentally move the background when trying to move other elements, which is really frustrating. Could you add a pin or lock option for elements/backgrounds on slides? Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback! We’ll pass this along to our Slide Figma team for consideration.
Be sure to also Vote up top, so we can start tracking interest from the community. ☝️
Any updates on this? Desperately in need of a “lock” function like the one in Figjam or Canva.
Would love to have a lock object feature.
I am working with objects overlayed and it’s frustrating to move things you don’t want.
Could be very useful to have this feature soon!
Just started using slides and I love it, but really missing a lock object feature! Very important for templates when sharing with less layout savvy teams.
I agree! I think that locking slide elements is must-have feature, the editor of the presentation in 99% of cases is not desginer. It means designer should be able to block any type of user actions with template except editing content.
I'll add my two cent: I don't understand, what the difference is between creating templates (and using them) in Slides and copying ready-made slides from Figma Design? If the editor can change element position, font size and colors, even create his own styles — what’s the point of templates?
Wanted to bump this thread and feature request. As of now, it feels easier and faster to create slides elsewhere and copy paste than to create them in Slides from scratch. Please bring over these basic features that we have all come to rely upon when designing.

So I discovered by playing around you can switch to DESIGN mode in the tool bar, and this gives you access to layers with locking:

Locking in right-click menu and shortcut is also then available. 🤗
