Rolling out: Projects become folders 📂 ✨

Very often when you select another tool, it’s impossible to get back to the “move” with “V”. It’s been there for such a long time I got used to it. Randomly clicking other tools buttons trying to click back to V. This thing has survived min 4 years, 3+ laptops I’ve changed and multiple companies accounts I worked on.
Loving the new multi-edit feature launch! It’d be cool if the Quick actions / omni-search menu (⌘/) could have the new multi-edit actions put into it: I’ve been a big user of this menu since Figma was new and keep noticing more and more friction as features launch but rarely make their way into here anymore — especially some of the more buried actions like Strokes included vs excluded, canvas stacking order, etc.
I have a library of cover thumbnails that I use in projects. It looks great when the files are all grouped and shown in the single project view but from the main screen, thumbnails are cut off on the sides and shown in a cropped aspect ratio. I’ve followed the guides from the Figma Docs about safe zone and sizing but it’s kind of disappointing that there is a view that doesn’t play by those rules. Has anyone found a solution to show the full cover thumbnail in a project container?
It would be useful if the window had a resize or fullscreen mode so devs could test responsive modes.
When we enter the variable library to select a color and we have it in list mode, it is very difficult to differentiate the folders from the tokens (even though the latter have their color chip). Therefore, I propose that you give these lines of text extra weight or a little more size. Or both. Small adjustments that make our work easier. ☺️
Right now when I select a group and use the “frame selection” shortcut, it renames the frame to an arbitrary name like Frame 40. However when I select a group and use the drop down menu on the right pane to change it to a frame, the name of the group is carried over to the frame. I would like this to be the case also when I use the frame selection shortcut.
I am a Mac user. The default behavior in my desktop apps is that command-W closes the window while not quitting the app (like clicking the red dot). I would like this in Figma as well.
Just made hotkeys
Pourrait-on augmenter le contraste des variables ? Le chiffre est la donnée que je regarde, elle est quasiment illisible (diseable mode), c’est une fatigue visuelle importante, merci pour l’évolution future ;-).
I would like the possibility to update a variable on the artboard and push the changes to the collection. Sort of like the components work today where you can make changes directly to a component and then push the changes so it affects the parent component. This would let me avoid the steps of having to look up the variable I want to edit in the collection and update it there which is quite tedious in its current implementation. Thanks!
In Figma, I found that the Google fonts in Figma are not synchronized with the fonts in the Google Fonts webpage, and the fonts in Figma are very old!
I’m a relatively new user of Figma (I’m about two months into helping my company transition from Sketch), and while I’m absolutely loving it, I have a wish-list of features that I’ve love to see built into the Gradient tool: Text Field for Linear angles. It’s not difficult to change the angle of a linear gradient, but it doesn’t offer the precision of typing specific angles into a text field. Text Field for color location. Much like what you find in Illustrator, it’d be great to be able to select the color and then type in a precise position. Color Styles within a Gradient Style. If I use my Primary & Secondary colors within a gradient and set that as a style, I’d like for that gradient style to update accordingly if I adjust the color values of the Primary & Secondary Color Styles.
The administrators in our organization would like to be able to use the Members tab in admin to send emails on whomever is shown in the current Members list. We could filter the members list prior to sending out emails to send reminders, ask people to use their full names, ask them to select a freaking workspace, etc. and save a ton of admin time exporting the CSV, turning it into Excel, applying a filter set, then creating a large email list, etc. etc. This would be a great feature. Thanks, Ben
Recently used Menti for a client that did not have access to FigJam. Their feature to prompt folks to submit ideas and finally have the ability to automatically cluster ideas to be voted on was amazing. Flow: Create voting board Anonymous voting (multi input) Automatically Cluster (AI driven) Voting (ability to set number of votes per user)
I’ve just started to use Figma Jam for sketching as a part of my design discovery process, but I accidentally get strokes all over my artboard because my palm of my hand is behaving like a pencil. This is honestly quite anoying and I am spending a lot of extra time either using the history state or I have to have to open my sketches in a desktop app to clean out all these random strokes created by my palm. In some sketch apps there are ways to avoid your palm to behave like a pen. Is there a way to activate palm or hand rejection in Figma Jam, if then how can I achieve that?
As a design leader, I want to quickly view how the design aligns with our system’s grid.
like the multi-edit but the fonts and sizes should be maintained and not change when multi-editing.
I think it’d be helpful to have open design sessions for Figma (design), similar to open sessions in FigJam. Similar to FigJam, sometimes you’re in a gathering, inspiration, or exploration phase and it would be great to do this with design artifacts or prototypes to quickly explore ideas with. It’s not advantageous to make someone an editor for a short period and deal with the billing scenarios. Opening up a resource to the community for a short window could benefit open collaboration and extended usability testing through live design.
Hi there, I think this would be very useful.
Without the ability to custom sort my folders (so that I can sort by project status) I’ve begun using the UTF colored circles to achieve that result, which works for me, but is still a hack. Would be nice to have status flags / dots for projects like this, and be able to sort / filter by status.
If we can able to select multiple files while deleting, it’ll be easier. because each time we’re exploring community files, it’s getting dumbed in our workspace. so when trying to select and delete. we’re feeling frustrated to select and delete each file.
For debugging proposes I would like to be to check the current state of a variable in the attributes panel, ostensibly when I hover so that I can diagnose issues with complex relationships of modes.
Would love to be able to reorganize modes so I can change the default one. If i want a new default mode now, i have to create my collection all over again.
I need to move where the original annotation to another element in my frame. Does anyone know how to do this?
