There should be option to select which specific properties you want to just copy or may be paste. For example: I have a round corner rectangle, and i want to just paste shadow property of some other rectangle, I should have option to just paste shadow property not all the properties at once.
It would be helpful to remove the text decoration from Type Styles. This would allow users to create a style, then highlight hyperlinks and add the underline to it. Currently, we have to break the text block from the typestyle, then add underline. Then, if we update the type style, we have to manually add those updates to the block.
I like to work with the UI hidden, but sometimes I need a panel, either the layer menu or the property one, so I am forced to show the whole UI again. It would be convenient if it was possible to make just one panel appear automatically by hovering over the edge of the screen, instead of having to use the shortcuts all the time. Here is a demo:
Problem: Currently, if we set a text style’s case to anything other than “As typed” (eg, “Uppercase”), we are unable to see the actual case we are typing into a component that uses that style (aside from the left-hand Layers panel IF the component we’re typing into doesn’t already have a custom name). I often explore different case styles in my components as I’m designing to see what works best for the overall look. This typically means setting the case style of buttons and some labels to Uppercase for a while to see if I like the feel. I inevitably end up entering some text into multiple components using this Uppercase style, but because I don’t notice that my caps-lock is enabled or I think I have toggled caps when I haven’t, I end up writing something like “bUTTON tITTLE” in the component. Visually, I see “BUTTON TITLE” so I don’t think anything of it and continue on. Later on, when I decide I want to switch back to “As typed” to see how that feels in terms of where the eye is drawn
I’ve been editing variable by variable to change it’s “scoping”. I tryied to multiselect them and change at once but changed only one. Maybe adding this option to the path line of the variable group would be a better solution.
File creation in “Drafts” by default
I keep trying to duplicate layers with “Shift + Enter” , it would be good to use the same shortcut for duplication across the whole of Figma.
I’m often reviewing 30+ comments when I start each day. I filter the comments by unread and start at the top. But as soon as I click on the comment, it gets moved down under the unread comments so I have to scroll ALL THE WAY back up. This takes 10-15 seconds for each comment (sometimes lots of comments and sometimes Figma is slow). SOLUTION: Figma should only mark the current comment as unread when the NEXT comment in the comment page is clicked. 02.10.2022-08.26.50
Wondering if it’d be possible to re-order the groups of variables with the same shortcut keys you use for the layers panel. Dragging and dropping isn’t always accurate and causes irritation and misplacement from time to time. As a customer this seems like a minor improvement but don’t know what that means for Figma and implementing this functionality considering the data that’s being moved around on the back-end as well?
In prototype mode, hold the CTRL/CMD key to enable the Knife tool. Hold the right mouse button and cut through interaction lines to remove connections between frames. Currently, you can select multiple layers and remove interactions from the context menu, but that removes all interactions (including component states like hover effects, etc). Removing interactions one by one is annoying… With this tool, you can remove interactions between frames without needing to select anything, multiple at once Blender shader editor has a similar feature for removing connections between nodes, which becomes a must have once you try it. Figma needs this functionality too!
Just acquire axure and bring us all the nitty gritty prototyping features to have easily maintainable prototypes that allow to test UI and UX designs holistically. 🙂
Hi, you should change the name FigJam to PigJam. It sounds cool and cute.
Say I have a component of a card and after various iterations in my design I want a group inside that card component to be a component but the “Create Component” option won’t show up. So every time I stumble upon this problem I have to take that group out of the card component, then create a component out of that group and then place it back inside my card component. Is there a reasoning behind not allowing users to create components within components?
In every iPad app I can think of with canvas navigation you pan / zoom with two fingers and select/select box with one. FigJam is the only app that doesn’t act like this. What’s more is that after selecting, it switches back to pan. Unless I specifically keep this in mind I am constantly confused what my index finger is going to do. Here’s what I would suggest: Option 1 (the Affinity Designer method) Pan and zoom with two fingers, select with one. Select multiple by drawing a box. Option 2 (The Apple Freeform method) Select and pan with a single finger Tap and hold to start a selection box For pencil users include the option to only select with the Apple Pencil and only pan with the finger. This would make the pencil workflow extremely fast.
Forgive the heavily redacted screenshot 🙂 What I’m trying to show here is, I was tagged in a comment thread 10 hours ago. But, in the righthand comments panel in the file, the notification stays buried at the bottom of the stack because the thread was started 13 days ago. I often miss notifications when I’m tagged in a thread for this reason. It’s very misleading that the notification is dated 13 days ago, but the comment was from today. IMO, new comments in a thread should appear at the top of the notifications stack.
Example: When assigning a Key/Gamepad press to an action, allow the Key to be filled out as “Dpad Up” OR “L-Stick Up” to support the same action being achievable with a variety of different keys based on the user’s preference. Currently, I have to duplicate and maintain multiple interactions per interactive element to workaround this. If you have an entire menu that you want to be navigable by multiple keys this adds up to a lot of complexity. (Adding in “AND” expressions would also be interesting, so a user has to press a combination of buttons to trigger the interaction)
Can you all please add the ability to add variants to fonts styles? like, if I have a headline font style created, instead of having to create a completely different font style for the mobile specifications, or mobile but bold. This would be an amazing addition in organizing the font styles across our products.
When going Fill -> Libraries it would be very convenient if it would put the focus on the textbox so that you can just type the variable name. I use it all the time and that extra click into the search box feels quite annoying after a while.
Hello: Within a project file, if a variable is applied to an element on one page and we copy the element onto another page, it does not carry the variables and requires manual reconnection. Since variables are not page-specific but file-specific, why do we need to reconnect them for every page?
The SHIFT-E shortcut to alternate between Prototype and Design modes was a great improvement. Needing this billions of times a day. Just wondering why we need the SHIFT, since the E shortcut isn’t taken. Wouldn’t that be even more convenient?
Would be great to visually group pages into something collapsible. This way we could reduce the amount of pages and scroll to this “pages group”.
We’ve been creating many variables, and some times deleting others. Would be much helpful to us have a way to know wich variables are not being used by anything on our file. It could help us to clean the variables list by removing deprecated variables.
Currently the only way for Organizational account administrators to remove unused seats (Design, FigJam or Dev Mode) in our respective account is by contacting the Support Team. I did just that a week before our annual subscription renewal to remove 2 unassigned seats before our invoice was issued and no one replied in time to get the seats removed, so the invoice was sent for the higher price. I spent the last month going back and forth with the Support Team arguing that we should not have to pay this extra cost as I followed procedure for updating our account and finally got Figma to issue a new invoice, but we should not have to go through that process to administer our accounts. Administrators can easily add seats at any time they wish, so it makes sense that during the 2-week review period before a subscription renews or a quarterly “True-up” we should also be able to remove unused seats ourselves and not have to rely on the Support Team, which becomes a bottleneck.
When you resize an element with right constraints inside a parent layer, the element expands towards the right and off the page (layer). I can’t think of a scenario where I would want this behavior. When I set a constraint, I don’t want to readjust the spacing from where it was originally while editing. Can anyone think of an example where this would not be desired behavior?
