I hope that the plug-in can add notes and custom label classifications, so that when we use the plug-in, we will not need to remember a large number of plug-in names and not know which one to use because there are too many plug-ins in our collection.
Please introduce prototyping components, like input fields that actually work. Ready made drop-down component that sets a selection variable per default, repeaters I can sync to a database or spreadsheet and so on. Please enhance they way we can build conditions and build prototypes with conditional logic.
Although this is a plugin api, in previous experiments it was possible to retrieve the figma object in the browser and perform the same behavior. But it doesn’t seem to be working now. Is it a proactive strategy or an inadvertent defect?
Hi everybody! BACKSTORY: I tried using new fill variable tables for Material design approach and created these variable collections: one for color palettes (e.g. primary90 or neutral30) and another for color roles (e.g. Outline Variant or Surface). I use Color Palette variable in Color Role variable. What I have noticed is that when I detach Color Role variable from a layer, it also detaches a Color Palette variable that was inside. IDEA: I think it would be very cool if the “detach variable” button would detach only outer variable and inner variable would still be attached.
Hello! I would love something similar to code where you can see who last edited a line but at the frame level. For example, if someone changes a gap size from 4px to 8px it would be awesome to know who did that. Even if it was myself and i forgot. lol
Tables and grid patterns are crucial for SaaS interfaces and are used very frequently. These elements are essential for displaying data in a structured and clear manner, which is particularly indispensable for complex applications. Currently, it is very cumbersome to build a manageable table from individual components. This is particularly challenging for those who utilize our design system, as they often need to detach components to expand the table and adjust it to respective data. This issue arises because we can only provide a limited number of columns and predefined table components. Additionally, it is very counterproductive to push components with hidden rows and columns in the layers list, as many of our users do not understand that this component can be expanded in this way. One should be able to add another row with a click, as a stackable component is simply loaded in the background. Proposal: A tool in Figma that functions similarly to an artboard and allows the creation of
Hello, that would be great to be able to add multiple devices to do a prototype (desktop, tablet, mobile) in one page. Currently, we have to create one page per flow, which is annoying as I often do proto on the same page. 🙃 (I can see that this idea has already been shared in 2021/2022 🫣)
This is the absolute worse place to put this think. I have nothing but problems exporting file formats because this thing is constantly in the way. CAN WE MOVE IT or perhaps allow the user to turn it off. Thx
Currently, when text is converted to vectors by flattening, it is rendered as one single vector object. Double clicking reveals all bezier nodes. For complicated letter forms, this can make it difficult to move/manipulate individual letters. It would be more useful if flattened text were rendered as a group of individual letter paths with each letter’s layer named that particular character. Bezier points could still be accessed by double clicking the letter form. Hopefully the image will help clarify:
Hi everyone 👋 With each update of Figma, which occur quite often, the shortcut is removed from the desktop. This is annoying and makes me waste time trying to create a shortcut again. The desktop is my workspace that I manage. The program should not perform actions without warnings, such as creating or deleting something. It is correct to create a setting or dialog box that allows you to manage shortcuts if it is really important. It will be great if the Figma developers fix this. Hug 🤗
We will have many favorite resources or plug-ins in the community. But when I look them up on my profile, I can’t easily find the one I used to like. Because there are so many, there are no categories in the personal homepage, and you cannot add custom tags.
It would be great if we could have a “Run Prototype” option for users who do not want to interact with the prototype. This option would play out to the user like a video.
As of right now, applying variables to stroke is incredibly counterintuitive. Right-click → apply variable. Why not use the same pattern that was used everywhere else? Cog. A second thing that would be incredibly useful would be to have the stroke property exposed and overrideable. This is incredibly useful when you need to have icons with different stroke sizes. Instead of having to create 5 variants, you can create a single one, scale it based on your needs, and simply override the variable attached with a different stroke size. This would also save a lot of memory for situations where you have large icons sets that are part of the design system.
I can do almost my entire FigJam sketching workflow using the Creator Micro, my Apple Pencil, and my iPad Pro (using the native app or using the MacOS app over SideCar). It’s amazing. BUT… I cannot change the color of the marker or highlighter. For this action, I have to interact with the UI, which breaks my flow. I prefer working with the UI hidden since, again, my entire flow can be done with the macro pad and stylus. So I’m requesting a keyboard shortcut to cycle the colors. A single key to cycle is important, because I’d like to bind this function to a knob or roller. Then I could rotate my way to the color I wanted and keep flowing. Shift + the keyboard shortcut could cycle in reverse. Bonus request: do the same for pen and highlighter thickness. Extra bonus request: give onscreen feedback when any of this happens and the UI is hidden.
What if Figma had an option where you can easily copy one item/object/ shape and on the right click section you could paste into another project or pages? Definitely saves time and has to be one of the game changing option.
I have found a thread below which mentioned Google Khmer font missing, but it was closed and no response. That’s why post another new one clarify my needs to enhance Figma missing Khmer fonts. I have some projects which are required to share the prototype in Khmer display to be reviewed by my clients. Somehow they can’t see the prototype properly due to a missing font error message. I understand that Figma can support local fonts by installing a font helper, but not everyone will install that helper application for any reason. Anyway, a Figma article says that “By default, Figma includes Google fonts in Figma design files.” That’s why I prefer to change fonts in my projects to use Google fonts, but unluckily I can see only one “Khmer” font from the font list as below which is not usable: Please help add other Khmer fonts from Google as below links to let other people view the prototype without any issue with Khmer fonts: Noto Serif Khmer - Google Fonts Noto Sans Khmer - Google Fon
The first, and easiest one would be to switch the selection from an element to its immediate parent using something like [command option shift] + [up]… I think [down] could select into immediate children and then use [left/right] to go between them, but I haven’t given it much thought. Selecting multiples might be possible too, but I think the issue here would be a lack of available modifier keys for the arrows.
When i have a component, i would like to be able to link the label override to a string variable . We are working with a big design system which is managed via another team and and i currently limited with my prototyping options because i want to re-use the component and not create a local component and then assign the variable to the text layer…
Suggestion: Implement a feature that allows users to automatically jump to the relevant section of the FigJam board set by the moderator upon opening. As a user, when I open the FigJam board, I want to be directed to the specific area currently highlighted by the moderator. This helps me avoid disorientation on large boards Benefits: Enhances user experience by providing immediate context. Reduces time spent navigating large boards. Improves efficiency during multiple meeting sessions.
Overview: Enable users to drop comments anonymously in Figma. Details: Current Situation: Comments are always linked to user profiles. Proposed Enhancement: Add an option to leave comments anonymously. Benefits: Encourages honest feedback. Reduces bias and hesitation. Fosters open communication. Example: Platforms like Google Forms and some feedback tools offer anonymous commenting, which encourages more candid and constructive input.
During prototyping, when you use the open overlay interaction you get a long list of all the frames in your canvas. You can get hundreds of frames with the same name and have to rely on an outline to know what you are selecting, it would be easier when if you can just click on the frame on the canvas to select it.
Hello colleagues, I have encountered a small problem, does anyone know how to fix it? in Figma, when switching to transparency mode (Ctrl+Shift+3), the ruler and guides (Shift + R) stopped being displayed, although Figma writes that it is on, it seems like it is there, just no rulers and guides are visible, I tried restarting Figma and the computer itself , log in using your account, log in from a browser, but nothing helped. But there is an interesting observation from another computer under the same logins, everything works fine (I didn’t touch the light and dark themes on the computer) in normal mode the ruler turns on and is displayed normally
Hi team, I have been using Variables extensively since the day of launch and I find the UI to be very clunky to use. I understand when it was in Beta and ‘just released’, that you’d go for a small resizable window that sits inside a tiny button called “Local Variables” but the more and more companies move towards extensive Design Systems, this UI just doesn’t cut it. Speaking of cutting it, we can’t move variables across collections! Every time new features and scoping options are released, one would like to re-organise the variables to make more sense for the team. It’s difficult to do quick mass actions with how the ‘Edit Variables’ menu hides the the icon for the next entry. You’d need to click somewhere else to close the menu, then click the icon again for the next one and repeat. If I am “hide from publishing” for multiple items, this is excruciating amount of work. Hoping Config 2024 brings some big changes to the Variables UI
When using Cmd + F and typing I would also like to find images that contain an alt text that matches my search.
As usual, I was updating small things in our design system. Recently, I added the “Text” property to the button and inputs component to make it easier to replace content in bulk processing. Over time, I realized that neither I nor the team was using it, so I decided to remove it. I assumed that since I was only removing the property and not moving the text element itself, everything would go smoothly, and as with adding it, all the content would be preserved in all files. I was wrong. The texts of all buttons and inputs were reset and became “Placeholder” as in the component. I updated the files unsuspectingly. A few days later, I noticed that the content had been reset. I can’t do anything now (except manually copy the data from the backup) because the file was being worked on after this change. So I would like Figma to make some updates here: Save the content of subordinate elements when deleting “properties” Improve the “history” functionality and expand the capabilities that wo
