at the moment there are only Current name / Number up / Number down variables when batch renaming frames. Can we get a frame size variable so it auto includes the frame size
Hey everyone, I love using FigJam for creating flow charts, but I’ve noticed a limitation that affects my design flexibility. When I change a box color, the text color changes automatically. It would be fantastic to have the option to select text color independently of box color. Why This Matters: Improved Readability: Ensures text remains legible. Design Flexibility: Greater control over the visual design. Enhanced Accessibility: Maintains high contrast for all users. If you agree, please support this feature request by voting. Let’s enhance FigJam together! Thank you!
Hey everyone, I have an exciting idea to enhance our Figma experience: allowing users to choose their personal colour of preference. This personalized touch can reflect each designer’s unique style and mood. The Concept Imagine being able to customize your profile with a personal colour that shows up as your cursor colour and in your chat bubbles within Figma. It would be a fun and expressive way to make our interactions more vibrant and personalized. The Proposal • Custom Profile Colour: Select a personal colour for your profile. • Cursor Colour: Your chosen colour will appear as your cursor in Figma, making it easy for others to identify you. • Chat Bubble Colour: Your chat bubbles will match your chosen colour, adding a personal touch to your communications. • Extra Features: Potentially extend this personalization to forum interactions, like your profile name or highlights. Benefits • Personal Expression: Showcase your personality and mood through colour. • Enhanced Collaboration:
It is always trying to snap to another element, so hard to edit a line, to move it… Why can it not be freestanding and simple to use?
It’s just so annoying. I don’t understand what layer is selected when every text layer in frame is highlighting with borders. The only i can se is BORDERS
I’m working on a template design system that will be used by a companies social media team. I’m specifying pretty much every last bit of each template so it would allow them to just do the editorial side of things like exchanging text contents, colors and images. I really dig the ability to being able to leak certain properties and simplifying instances, so they will end up with quite a focused view of what is changable and what is not. This is important as it won’t encourage them of breaking the system casually. All I am wishing for in a while now is being able to set a color and image property. I think as it is now, this is handled inconsistently and unintuitively. It would be exactly like “selection colors” is handled in UI2, but set as a property value. Same goes to images, would be amazing to being able to allow them to interchange images quicker, not having to comb through the instances layers.
The new Slides looks nice, and is seemingly pretty easy to use and all. However not being able to round corners individually on a shape seems a bit over simplified. This i similar to the competitor Pitch, but for me Figma is for real designers. We should have that option.
Currently, the only ways to run plugins in Figma are by searching for their names in the plugins section of the actions panel or using their shortcuts in the right panel. I suggest adding the ability to run Figma plugins via a direct link. This would be a significant time-saver for heavy Figma users. For example, I use a Stream Deck for shortcuts, and being able to launch plugins with a link would streamline the process, reducing the effort needed to set up hotkeys or macros for newly used plugins. Thank you.
Hi there, I don’t know this is good idea or not. In my case there is a lot of intern here doing some mistake to change the component directly on the instance. Because its not standard, in some case I need to reset the changes their made and because I try to use UI3. There is little bit confusing & hardest for me at the same time to do reset the component, because Figma put the button of reset component inside dropdown In my opinion, its better to put out this reset button outside the drodpown so maybe it will be helpful for people that facing a problem like me. What do you think ?
Need a way to identify design file Vs FigJam Vs PPT on the top tabs used to show open files. Currently they are just plain tabs and not recognizable on which one is a FigJam or a design file
Problem: When the file is shared among the team, while I am working on the file there are other people with the view access reviewing the file. And those multiple hovering cursors are quite distracting. Possible Solution: There should be a toggle button on the top, when you turn it on you will not see other cursors[of teammates] other than yours. When it is off, it will come back to the normal view.
Please, all I want is the ability to see the entire name of my variable, and to do this I would love the ability to resize the column to whatever size is needed. Seems straight forward, I hope. Cheers!
The current view of comments is hard to use because you have to hover over each one to see them in full with the context of where they are placed. I find myself repeatedly opening each one while brainstorming or viewing feedback. My idea is that when the user hits C on their keyboard (or another shortcut), they can see a slightly expanded view which includes the first comment in a thread and the # of comments in the thread (Screenshot 2).
Maybe I’ve missed it, but is there a way to access published libraries as in the designer? A presentation (for client A) branded with their color styles and components should be easily swappable for another.
Figma recently updated the way it loads pages to improve performance. Previously it loaded all your pages at once, and this makes big files slow. Instead it loads additonal pages on demand, so if I open a file with 10 pages, it only loads the page I opened, and starts loading other pages as I navigate to them. I understand why this was done, as it massively helps with Performance of the original page file load, and I’m assuming this was an issue with bigger files. But the problem I have is it now takes me several seconds to load individual pages. I’ll often have meetings where I’m sharing my screen and showing people something on Figma, and it makes it very hard to talk through something whilst navigating my designs if I have to keep stopping to wait for page loads. This never felt like a problem for me before the change, when all pages were loaded at once. It’d be great if the logic here could be refined somehow. E.g. maybe lazy load other pages in the background once the first had lo
We’re experimenting with using branching so designs that developers are referencing do not change. However, quite often everyone in the team include me, make unintended modifications to the main branch. This is mostly because the designs are identical and tough to distinguish from one another. The names are often the only indicator for now which isn’t as noticeable. Was wondering if it would be helpful to set a branch specific color for the work area. This way it would be easy to tell what branch one is in and if they should be making modifications or no. Basically, Ohh, I see a lot of red, I seem to be in the main branch, let’s be cautious I see a lot of green, seems like I’m in the right branch
Hello, it would be great if theming would get some love, as probably most users don’t just have a light and dark theme but also different business units. For a second/third business unit I don’t want to have all tokens, I only want a few that are changing and also on export, I only need the few that are neccessary. Like I have tokens for a CTA: background, foreground, padding, gap … I only want to change the background and foreground within a theme, but will get all variables doubled. Maybe let us set one theme as core and while creating a new set, we can relate to core and overwrite the tokens needed. Working on a organizational license. Thanks
Slides are great - one HUGE frustration is that I (as far as I know) cannot clip the content. I downloaded the slides and the bits that were off the screen downloaded as well, I have to put the slides in a Figma Design file to fix this- unless I am completely missing this. ALSO I selected all the slides to download as a PDF and only slide one will download, although it says 31 slide will. So I downloaded them one by one, only to find out that they weren’t cropped to the page. Finally - it would be SO nice if I could download the entire file as one singular PDF. Thanks 🙂
Before, the community had the ability to view trending, popular, and new plugins, but now this filter is missing. If a plugin was at the top of the “Trends” page, it allowed to get more than 100 users daily, simply because the plugin was in sight.
Hey everyone, currently one can decide to publish libraries either… in the org in the same team It would be great, if one could publish libraries in any team. Why? In our design system, we have set up a “team” as testing environment, where we would like to test bigger changes, which could potentially break existing layouts. But we are unable to publish changes from our component library to the test environment as long as we are limited to publish in the same team or org. It would be great to be flexible and choose any team for publishing.
Does anybody know if it’s possible (and how) to stretch a gradient over multiple text cells and keep the actual text data? I know that I can “flatten” text into shapes and do it. But can we keep the text cells and do it? I’m trying to take advantage of the Local Variables feature to streamline our copy editing (and design), as well as have Figma mimic the code and data on the eng side. So, there are places where in our code it would be an interpolated/concatenated string that on display has one gradient going across the text. The screenshot shows the gradient stretched across an entire string on the top. When I carve it up into concatenated Variables, the bottom two is all I can do with what I know:
I want to visually organize all files within the Project workspace, as an Admin i want to create a Template that will be used every time a member creates a new file (or have an option to use Template or create blank file) this will help organize files in the pages panel, all using consistent file structure across the workspace.
I want to use Code Block in Figma Slides. Currently, it results in an error when I copy and paste the FigJam’s code block component into Figma Slides. This feature would be very valuable. Every engineer would use Figma Slides for their technical presentations.
Loving the new product. One pet peeve, is I can’t currently add images to masks I don’t think. I have to add them in a standard design file and then copy and paste them in currently. One idea is you should have the ability to add an associated design file to a slide deck so that you can keep track of design iterations in the design file and then have the presentable deck as it’s own file. If they’re separate that is fine but it will be easier if they’re connected somehow.
When I am previewing a slide in the presenter mode, keep the focus on the same slide in the slide-view mode Show distance between layers and the edges of the frame when I hold down option. This is a behavior I use when creating slides in Figma and I find that missing. It’s difficult to use ‘X’ and ‘Y’ coordinates to make alignment. Do not stop at what other presentation tools are doing. Go a step ahead and do what you do best 😉
