the new autolayout behavior I’ve had for the past few weeks (automatically setting child elements to fill with new autolayout set to fixed) is painful. I wish my settings could go back to when wrapping an element with an autolayout didn’t change the element’s behavior properties and the new autolayout was set to hug

This has also driven me mad before I figured out exactly what was happening. Sometimes I drop something into a centre aligned auto layout, and I want just that element to appear on the left of the frame, so I just make it fill the parent frame – now that stretches the (normally png) element that I’ve placed wasting time and looking bad

An additional vote not to set child elements in AL to Fill. I often don’t want that, and it’s quite annoying to have to go figure out where things reset to Fill, and then set them to how I want them.

I wish there were more topics about this, it’s been driving me crazy for a few months. Created a topic (which you replied to) that didn’t get much traction: Applying auto layout to component sets results in unwanted behavior
