Concept idea for highlighting which components need to be publishedWhen I navigate through my Design System, it’s not immediately clear which components have pending changes that need to be published. Being able to identify them would allow me to select them and publish the changes without having to manually scan through them. It would also be helpful to identify which nested components need to be published as well. When you hover over a component nested within another, it indicates whether it has pending updatesThis other idea aims to display—either on hover or by default—which nested components have pending updates
Hello Figma Team, I’d like to suggest some improvements to Figma’s table workflow to make practical table editing much more efficient for real-world use cases. Currently, basic table layouts are possible, but there are still limitations when working with tables in professional design workflows. I believe the following improvements could greatly enhance usability: • Improved cell, row, and column editingIt would be helpful to have more intuitive controls for adding, deleting, duplicating, resizing, and merging cells, rows, and columns. • Better spreadsheet and external data integrationConnecting or importing data from Excel or Google Sheets more seamlessly into Figma tables would significantly improve workflow efficiency. • Bulk style editing for tablesApplying typography, padding, borders, background colors, and other styles across multiple cells at once would save a lot of production time. • Expanded use cases for calendars and schedulesIf table functionality becomes more powerful, Fi
I’m building a design system and am calling out specific gradient use. I’m only allowed to rotate 90° increments. Please add the ability to manually enter degrees so I can save it to a style. This allows all my designers to not have to manually adjust gradient on text or other objects that I can’t save as a component.
I experienced this exact issue while performing a usability test the other day. The result was that the user was mindlessly hunting for where the cursor changed, rather than thinking about the UI. Currently under prototyping mode - when hovering over interactive components the curser instantly changes from arrow to hand. This creates major issues during usability tests since users are able to guess the “correct” answer just by identifying hotspots via curser change. It actually makes the “show hotspots on links” checkbox less useful as we still show the hotspots by curser change even if this is unchecked Original post: Disable mouse cursor change on hotspots
Figma is being used more and more also for simple slide presentations, not just device/interface prototyping. In this scenario, having the cursor constantly showing is quite annoying. Please hide the cursor automatically when it’s not moving, just like when watching a video fullscreen on Netflix, the cursor disappears after 2 seconds when it’s not being used. This behavior would make sense even for an interface prototype tbh and make sense when screensharing a presentation to others.
When I merge a branch which has some comments, those comments are not copied/merged/… to main file. Is it expected behaviour or “thing in progress”? I would love to have those comments transfered. So i don’t forget anything 🙂
Has anyone found a way to get Figjam to automatically color URL text blue? I keep confusing URL text with standard black underlined text in boards.Feels like a basic feature missing
Not sure if it’s just me and if I’m doing something wrong, but just having the exclamation mark notifying you that there is a conflict or issue with a mode that uses variables is too vague. I spent over two hours trying to identify the issue. I got a message telling me to ‘Library assets may need to be republished...’ which fixed nothing. In the end i found out the was an issue caused by me changing/organinsing some of the variables in my design systems ‘Layout mode’.The section that had the layout variables applied was still showing the correct values, so as far as i could tell all was good, so couldn’t understand the issue:-I get that if something changes in the design system that it can effect the file that uses it as a library, and there may be confilcts, missing variables and that Figma will do its best to make up for such issues. It would be good to be able to somehow identify exactly what’s causing the issue, mybe an icon or similar to the pickwick on finding where a colour is u
Hi it've been a pain for our team lately. We always have to design in 2 languages (English and Vietnamese). We have to duplicate a flow in 1 language and translate into other language. Imagine if there're adjustments with the flow, we got to double work and make changes on both version. Couldn’t imagine the workload if the company decided to add 3rd or 4th languages. I wish there are some kinds of feature like language toggle. It would automatically update changes on both version. I can come back to each version to update some minor text translation.
I’m a hybrid UI/UX designer, and part of my work includes creating digital assets (like instructional gifs / videos, product launch gif). Right now I design in Figma but then have to switch to other tools (Premiere or After Effects) just to put videos together. When it comes to prototyping, it requires higher effort to update these contents and makes collaboration harder. It would be amazing if Figma had some basic video editing features built in—nothing too heavy, but enough to:Trim and stitch clips together Add simple transitions or motion Layer text, images, or overlays Drop in audio tracks Dev friendlyIt’d be super useful for teams like mine that work on both design and content, and it could save us from jumping across multiple apps.
When using FigJam on an iPad w/Apple Pencil Pro, it would be incredibly helpful if the app actually recognized the gestures of the Apple Pencil Pro and followed the system settings, like swapping to the eraser or opening the tool’s command pallet. This cannot come soon enough…
Sometimes I use dev mode links to look through people’s files. For every file I viewed I get notifications when something is marked as Ready for dev.And it also bloats my mail withFrame 2087324273 is ready for dev in Draft | You're subscribed because you viewed this file in Dev Mode.Kinda tired to unsubscribe from every single file. Why there’s no option to opt off every dev mode updates in settings? Figma notifications settings
If I have a team with some members not spending their Make credits, I want to commandeer those as an admin. Or even better, I’d like an admin setting to put the sum of all the credits for our full seats into one shared bucket.
It really should allow external users to leave comment on Figma make. Commenting on Figma make is crucial!I have been pasting them back to Figma Design just to get comments for feedback...
Figma Make Commenting Feature Request.Feature request: Add native, pinned commenting inside Figma Make prototype view/links (similar to Figma prototype presentation comments). Current behavior: Comments are not supported in Figma Make today, so feedback needs to happen in Figma Design or FigJam instead.
If I am writing feedback in a comment and need to go back and inspect something, once I click out of the unsent message, the entire typed comment in progress disappears. Can we please have the ability to auto-save comment drafts so I do not need to remember to copy and paste what I have in progress each time?
Right now, size depends on stroke width, so stuff like this happens: I want to be able to adjust the arrowhead scaling, just like in any other design tool:
Currently, when using variables, in the settings you can’t select wether you want a value (for example, padding-sm) to apply to just the padding or the gap of an auto layout. Which means that when you want to select a gap variable, it shows all the padding values as well. Can we get a setting for this?
It’s so limited and we have to clear it everytime. Increasing the limit or making it unlimited and wrap the text is a great idea.
I’ve just applied variables to all our project’s text styles. It all works as expected. However, in inspect mode, font weight it still displayed as normal css value and not with css-variable. See screenshots. Is this a bug or me messing up things?
Hey @ksn just one small request can we get tracker and queue on our community account that would help for sure. Thanks 😅
Hi everyone,Is there an option to cancel the export action? While the action is running it shows this nice “Exporting...” info:But I could not find a way to abort the action. And if one made the mistake to choose export 1064 x instead of w it takes quite a while until the export action is done. Meanwile I cannot edit anything else. Why not add a little (x) next to “Exporting...” to give a possibility to stop the action? This would be great!Best, Sarah
Hey all - I am running into a bit of a issue with how component properties are working today - specifically in the context of Figma-to-code workflows. It’s not so much of a “blocker” but I think it would be a huge unlock if we were able to attach “meta” or “pass-through” properties on Figma components.Currently any properties added to a component need to be “used” in your component. A variant, boolean, etc. needs to affect something structural or decorative in your component or you’ll see an error icon and a message “Not used within component”. Instances of the component will not contain these unused props. This is reasonable since you don’t want to have extra props on your component that are effectively no-ops. However, as Figma designs and components are increasingly the input for many design-to-code workflows, many of the things we might want to associate with a given component do not necessarily have a visible presentation impact on the Figma side, but are used in downstream coded
So I created a skill to help me organize my Components in Design Library, something like rename layers, reorder variants to make library more tidy. But when I (or AI) trying to reorder variant values’ order, it says that no API support this kind of operation. For example, I would like to change Variant “size” from [medium, small, large] to [small, medium, large], it can’t be done by program, only can be change manually.I can ask AI to create a new, same Component Set, but it will lose connection to exist instances, and it’s bad.Is there a way to adjust values’ order by Plugin API?
Request:Provide an option to easily duplicate or backup files via an API Reasoning:The REST API comes with a lot of options, but it doesn’t allow you to copy files, projects or teams. There’s an option to download files, but not as uploadable content (i.e. as .FIG), nor is there any option to duplicate them, if they are e.g. used as a template for another team.Possible (i.e. my) use case:I work in an enterprise. We have a base design system with tokens that we hand out to external agencies and do some automatic checks via different APIs. I would like to automate the duplication process of these files completely. However there’s no good option to do this at the current moment.
