Remove limitations on Connected Projects

I was surprised to notice today that the long awaited Connected Projects is now available in Figma but also very disappointed to see the absurd limitations on how many connected projects each plan can have.

I can somewhat understand the limitation of being able to connect with one company at a time for technical/admin reasons in the first release, but WHY do we need the limitations of how many connected projects we can have if all parties are already paying for their licenses?

The max 3/6 in Professional and Organization is ridiculous, as it also counts the projects that are shared our way.

Please remove these artificial limitations, or at least make them a lot bigger like 20 / 40 / 80 so they make some sense in the real world.

Totally agree!

I work in the design agency. Connected projects was something that would solve our biggest problem collaborating with clients, but as it is limited, it solves nothing. Some clients even have more than 1 project, so we used the whole limit on one client. Even if they would merge their projects, we would be limited to 3 clients in any given time. It’s a disgrace.

I totally get what you mean, Lauri. The Connected Projects feature is a fantastic step forward, but those limits feel unnecessarily restrictive — especially when all collaborators are already paying for their licenses. It would make a lot more sense if Figma raised the cap or removed it altogether to better support real-world team workflows. Hopefully, they’ll take community feedback like this into account in future updates.
