It would be handy to be able to see the amount of new comments that each file has in its thumbnail because it’s usually the first thing I see when I open Figma and we work a lot using the comments. The notification panel is fine, but this I think would be a nice addition.
I hope to be able to support centimeter units and import/export CDR and AI files…
It would be great to have a way to lock edit access to anyone (including those who have access via team membership, etc.) in an individual FigJam.
I am building a design system, and it’s quite the work to create text styles for every variant. It would be so nice if we could select a couple of text layers, turn them into different text styles and be able to rename them individually without having to deselect and individually select them again.
It would be great to be able to bulk add students directly from Google Classroom (classroom importing) and also easily be able to toggle edit access for the whole class in an individual FigJam, regardless of their membership in a project or team.
Imagine command palette which allows you to change any component property - color/text styles, variants, props etc without ever touching the mouse. Linear command palette but for Figma essentially. The distance I am traveling back and forth from frames to the property panel is absurd so this would improve the ergonomy of using Figma
Hi 🙂 I love that you’ve added the multi-select feature, but when it comes to component sets, I often don’t want to edit all variants inside a set. I’m working on our Design System and was editing our button component set. I wanted to change the icon size of all buttons with the variant prop S applied. But when I trigger multi-edit variants it always selects all variants inside my component set. (All sizes, states, etc.) Currently if I want to make changes only to for example the icon, I have to shift select each one of them by hand and as they are nested inside I have to double click a lot. If I miss-click I also have to start over sometimes. It would be wonderful if there would be an option to filter by the property you want to multi-select when inside a component. So in my example I would filter by the variant “Size: S” and only my S buttons are selected. I can then select layers inside one element and all the other variants with the size S will select the same element as wel
Hi Figma Team, I suggest removing unnecessary information in the project selection window to make project names more readable. This would enhance the user experience by making file management easier. Thank you for your attention.
I want to request a way to batch resolve comments. Currently, comments must be resolved one-by-one, which is tedious. Ideas: Resolve all comments within frame. Maybe this could show in the right-click menu after right-clicking on a frame. Resolve all comments within ___ (frame, section, group, page, selection). Could the idea above work at various levels? Add multi-select to the right-hand comments panel, and controls for “resolve” and maybe other actions. So as the user, I can select multiple comment items, then click to resolve them all.
In the UI3 I need to use the shortcut for this very helpful functionality “Paste to Replace”. Please bring it back in the Command menu (even you can hide it under “Copy /paste as …” but don’t delete it. thanks!
I’m not sure if this exists already. But it would be great to have access to or create a master file with font styles instead of changing them on the side menu every time.
Hey 👋 I like password protection on my links, but I don’t want people to go through the additional step of typing in the password. This is especially important when portfolio links created on Flides (Figma Slides) are submitted in a “Corporate” form field. I propose to make this more seamless and have something like https://www.figma.com/deck/S0m3HasH/Design-Portfolio?*password="NoNeedToTypePassword"* and make it more seamless. Maybe we can have a button with Copy Link With Password
Hi, I really enjoy how snappy and easy to use is the new measure (Shift+M) tool in Dev mode. However, I was unable to find a way how to annotate minimum and maximum width values there. In my case pixels are not that important and my preferred units are CSS Grid fractions. It would be nice if the measurement tool would let overriding its original value, so I could emphasise what’s important, in my case: width: 1fr. min-width: 300px. If there’s already a way to do that, I would love to hear that! Example image attached:
Hey Figma team, I just got access to the new UI, yay! I was hoping that by pressing the minimize button on the layers panel that it would minimize just that side, but it seems to minimize both sides at once. This essentially duplicates the hide UI functionality that already exists (CMD + \ ). Short explanation: New SHIFT + \ minimize is basically the same as CMD + . Change SHIFT + \ to minimize only the layers panel.
It would be really useful to be able to link to a flow starting point as a prototype interaction, especially if it could be done across different pages in a prototype. For example, it would be a quick way to add a “restart prototype” button without having to hunt through a list of frames, or to create a launch screen for a bunch of prototypes. Right now you can use the share link to the prototype, but it’s a pretty clunky way to do it.
Most of the time, I do find myself exporting frames as images to my local machine and then importing them back to the same file on Figma, just so I cold make the presentations there or creating user guides for the app I’m designing. It would be very cool if we could Convert the entire frame as an image and then have it there, without the need of exporting it and bringing it back again on the file.
Currently there is no way to mass contact all users within an Enterprise Figma workspace. There have been instances when it would have been nice to contact the members in the application through notifications or even posting a temporary banner at the top. Being able to contact through an email or connect to Microsoft Teams would be even better. There was a yellow banner that showed all users within the workspace that the account had not been paid, even though our procurement team was in contact and had settled it with Figma. We initially thought this was only in the Admin view, but turns out everyone with access to Figma could see it. It would have been nice to be able to send out a notification or message to all users that it was being handled, rather than having members panic about saving work within their accounts and being bombarded with messages and emails about it. Often, the people who have admin privileges within a design tool are not the people paying for the design to
This has been discussed before, but i still want to make a post about it. We currently have a design system that uses fractions to define the logic of our grid-system. It already helps defining the structure of a grid before passing it by development and also closes the gap between design and development. Only problem is that we have to document and define the grid system for each device size, which takes more time to design and takes longer to create a developer hand-over or problems when showing stakeholders the scalability of our prototype. while we just want the grid to scale evenly across viewports unless defined otherwise. I would just love to create an auto layout based on fractions (fr) to just state the responsive behaviour of a grid layout. For now we will do it the old way, but i wanted to share my story and hope this could happen in the future 🙂
Problem: Controls for autolayout and width/height are combined together When I hover over the control I can’t see autolayout settings When hovering the number is enabled and looks like the value is fixed It would be nice to see Hug, Fill, Fixed settings all the time.
When I use some fonts installed by myself on Figma Windows platform, I can only switch the fonts provided by Figma to continue editing text on other platforms ( such as Android tablet ), which affects my using experience. It would be best if this feature could be added
Hi, wanted to provide some feedback about the new assets menu. One of the most common workflows designers use will be for inserting components. It looks something like this. Shift + I Click component (or drag to where you want) The issue I’m having now is that this menu does not close after an asset is added. For small design systems with only a few components that might be ok. but we have a large design system with close to 100 components + several hundred icons. Our designers are going to be starting from a new search each time. Ideally this would behave like the old menu where once the asset is inserted the menu disappears. Currently I have to either click the close button or select the menu and click close.
Recommend Figma add “Minimap” like overview file design in new UI Update
This is functionality I used to use in Sketch, and I really miss it! Now that Adobe owns Figma, I wonder if this feature could be implemented. I work with a team of visual designers and we use Figma for all our design files now (we love it!). But we still do more complex compositing in Photoshop. Rather than the hassle of saving a PNG every time I make a change to a graphic and re-linking it in Figma, I’d like to be able to import the .PSD and have it update as a dynamic link. Let me know if anyone has questions about this. Thanks!
The way FigJam seats are added to billing whenever a team member just opens a FigJam file is so annoying and real spoiler to the overall experience of being on a paid plan. When that happens I literally have to cancel my subscription to get the seat(s) out of the next invoice projection? I’m certainly not alone with this sentiment, e.g. see Unclear figma billing practices. Please make it easy and obvious how to limit FigJam seats or disable the overall availability of FigJam. Edit: Just found that there’s an extra seat setting for FigJam and you have to set it to viewer-restricted as well: So that works! Still believe there should be a more obvious ways that doesn’t leave the impression that Figma wants to palm these seats off to you if you don’t take extra care.
Hello I am one of the admins for my organisation. We work with a consultancy to build a product so we have many participants from that organisation as guests. It is difficult for me to manage those guests and I would like to make one of their team an admin. Unfortunately this is not possible because Figma model is a close between organisation and teams. Obviously I cannot claim the consultancy domain as one of my own and add it to my organisation… I am sure that ours is not the only organisation that works with consultants. It would be good for Figma to have a more flexible management that does not necessarily equate products and teams with a single organisation/domain. Best regards –ben
