We add external hyperlinks to inline and standalone text in our Figma UI designs.

Both our UX/UI and Frontend teams prefer this to another way of specifying hyperlinks in our designs.


Pain points:



  1. Clicking hyperlinks always sends us to the external pages.

  2. In Dev-Mode the only way to copy the hyperlink in a text is to open the hyperlink in browser and copying the link from browser’s address bar.


Possible solutions:



  1. Clicking hyperlinks in design and dev mode opens a little info with the actual hyperlink and the option to copy or open it (e.g. similiar to the edit hyperlink function in design mode)


Or:



  1. Include hyperlinks in the inspect panel
