Figma desktop auto update fail

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give us the option to disable auto update. Seriously, this is a real design flaw, ironic for a UI/UX design app.

One of the golden rules is never to update software mid project as it can introduce unwanted bugs.

So why does Figma not have the option to disable this?
