I frequently have to add stickies for team members that don’t have FigJam editing access, so it would be great to be able to change the author name so I know who said what. In addition to that, there’s a weird bug where sometimes my name shows as the author for other people’s sticky notes.
Hey there, thanks for the feedback!
We’ll pass this onto our team for future consideration. As for the author change, if you make any changes to another person’s sticky note (i.e. adding a space or correcting a typo), the Sticky will automatically update to your name as the author for the most recent update.
Is this also happening without you making any changes to the sticky note at all?
Hi there! This doesn’t seem to be the case for me. Once a sticky is created, the author name sticks regardless of the edits occurring.
Thanks for the input!
Just to clarify, when you update existing text, the original author’s name will remain the same. However, if you erase all the text or begin typing in an empty note from scratch, then the author’s name should update to reflect the new author.
I hope it makes sense.
Thanks for the feedback!

I does makes sense, but It would be great to allow users to edit the author, and also have multiple authors. I believe that sometimes it’s better to add details to certain notes instead of adding more notes about same thing.
Currently I have an scenario where I just be added to a team to work on an existing project where I need to perform a lot of research and I am reviewing recorded meetings and I am taking notes, and I would like to have the possibility to change the author to the notes and know who said what Im putting there.
And I know that it will be scenarios where an author won’t want to allow that other users change theirs notes, I believe that it could have some kind of lock for that. Just thinking aloud.
+1 to Mauricio. Every time I use FigJam, there’s always a couple teammates who don’t have FigJam editing access due to org contraints. It’s very common for me to add stickies for other people so editing the author would be incredible helpful in these circumstances.
Yes please, add this feature!
We just started using FigJam for Scrum and its AMAZING, it has completely enhanced our process in many ways. This is the only thing I wish we could change as well. We often have to “reassign” stickies and using the author name is a great way to keep track of who “owns” the sticky.
