They are so bad, it’s sickening. First, masks go behind the masked object, (?!) Second, if you build a mask out of different compounded shapes (add/subtract), then you can’t select the sub shapes by clicking. You have to go to the layers and navigate through tens of shapes. Please change this, just do it like Illustrator. It’s unbelievable how bad it is. I get dandruff every time I have to use them.

Currently we get the Figma file name as a Tab title when we Run/Present any prototype. Now if on that page I had designed multiple Flows (Start points) then there in no way while having a look on Tab title that which prototype flow is presenting/running.Also while hovering that Tab can we show the full file + Page + Flow name in tooltip ?

The new additions to the grid layout are really awesome and very helpful! Thanks for that!It is now more like I’m used to having a grid in software.Now I have another proposal to make it even better.Sometimes I need to select all cells in a column, for example set the alignment inside that column.Currently I have to select all items in that column one by one.It would be very handy if columns or rows are represented in the Layers (left sidebar) so selection of cells would be easier. Maybe also add a toggle to switch between row and column seelction.

I haven’t seen many posts about this, only one from 6 months ago that’s now locked for some reason. When working with Auto Layout (fill to width/height) and aspect ratio locked, I’ve noticed decimal points in the element’s height/width (I have pixel snapping on). I tried Round to pixel but it’s not working. It would be so great if the Snap to Pixel Grid function worked with Locked Aspect Ratio! In my example below, I set the frame to fill the width but locked the aspect ratio so it doesn’t stretch the content. Unfortunately, this results in a decimal-point height, and with auto-layout this results in objects below this component to be placed on decimal points. When exporting as an image (which is a technical requirement), the decimals are filled with an odd colour (see last image).Component height results in decimal points when scaled automatically.Aspect ratio locked, and decimal point height.Odd colour fill in the bottom row of pixels when exporting. 

By default, all exports are named after the Board.I am copying the section title when I prepare to export.It seems like a better default rule to have the section title be the filename.

Hi Figma team,At the company I work for, we often send design PDFs to clients who aren't familiar with Figma prototypes. Email is our main channel, but exported PDFs are often way too large—even when using the TinyImage compressor plugin, which is slow and not always effective.It would be incredibly helpful to have:An option to disable font embedding.Basic PDF compression settings (e.g. image quality).A way to export text as vectors without manually outlining everything.Improving PDF export would really ease delivery for teams who rely on email-based workflows. Miro has this down quite nicely. You can create swimlanes there, which serve as a grouping mechanism, and it makes it easier to create complex workflows. My workaround right now is to simply have different sections, which works OK. However, when creating new shapes (through the connector icon next to the shape), it keeps suggesting objects outside the current section. To be honest, if this were fixed, and sections in FigJam could. just be swapped / extended (sort of like a table), this would solve 99% of the drawbacks I currently see in FigJam for that use case! Keep building the best product on earth!  

Hi Figma team,I’d like to provide some feedback on the current Pages and Layers panel experience.Right now, the Pages section and Layers section are stacked vertically. When a file contains many pages and many layers, I have to keep dragging the panel up and down, which is inefficient.Would it be possible to redesign the layout so that Pages and Layers can be displayed side-by-side, or allow them to be expanded simultaneously in a more flexible way? This would make navigation significantly faster.Additionally, could the Pages section support a grouping feature similar to Layer folders? When a project has many pages, the list becomes long and hard to manage.Overall, the main goals: Reduce unnecessary scrolling Allow quick access to all pages and all layers Support grouping/organization for pages Thanks for considering these improvements!

Basically, I want to be able to take something that I’d previously made into a component and “uncomponentise” it. Currently, I have to either delete it (not good for version control) or make an instance, detach the instance and then delete component. I just want to be able to turn the component off so that it’s no longer in libraries etc.

Would be great if there was a way to be able to change the sort/order in which auto layout components are shown, without having to detach or redo all the work to edit the components. For example: eg. using a table or list component, and being able to move row 3 to be row 4. Current native experiences forces you to either: Detach the component (not ideal) and resort Redo all the content for both rows 3 + 4 Neither of these are ideal from a system or efficiency perspective.

Some files have a Variable panel with a Collections dropdown menu. Other files do not have the dropdown menu. Does anyone know why this happens? See attached. I am in Figma desktop app for macOS, in Professional Plan.I prefer the dropdown menu, but do not see an option to enable it in my files where it is missing.

Currently, annotations only allow you to select the lowest level layers it can find. Many, many times I just want to document something on a whole group or frame, and it doesn’t look like this is possible, which seems like a huge miss.

Find & Replace text is incredibly helpful, but the functionality can have unhelpful/unintended consequences when updating text across components and instances. Current behavior: Find and replace does not distinguish or prioritize between replacing text in parent components, component instances, or strings not within components. This means that if text is replaced within instances, it treats those strings as overridden, and changes to the text in the parent component will no longer automatically update in those instances. Expected behavior:Find and replace text in components before instances (including instances within other components) and update search results before replacing text in component instances. This allows component instances to have relevant text updated by the parent component when possible and not overwriting text strings within instances that shouldn’t be customized. 

Hey guys,Can you make the billing section more viible? Everytime I have to pay for Figma I forget where the invoicing is, I literally spend 10 mintutes to find the billing section to pay my invoice, when I have to do it manually. Every time.

How about the option to choose which export file type is the default when exporting graphics? (i.e. SVG or PNG rather than JPEG) … this would make our devs REALLY happy! 🤩

I’d like to disable comments while I’m working so the client doesn’t comment on it in real time. And be able to turn it back on when the design is done.

Edit: Moved to Share Feedback ContextMy company heavily uses Figma variables and are looking to build out multiple collections each having a unique set of modes. One example would be around Buttons—two collections would be made, one for states and another for size. There would be many other collections that would need to be created to create a comprehensive design system. The dashed lines are so inconsistent with any sort of shape with corners or rounded edges. There needs to be some sort of option to choose Adaptive styling or consistent styling or something like that so that the designer can choose to either have figma style the dashes to fit the shape how it thinks it should look, or consistent dashes and gaps as manually set in the advanced settings. This is very limiting and frustrating. Currently I’m having to go back and forth between illustrator and figma for every single shape to get a proper dashed line. 

Describe the problem your experiencing and how your idea helps solve this When I am tagged in a lot of comments in Figma in a short amount of time or throughout the day, the amount of email notifications I get is overwhelming, but I don’t want to turn them off because I forget to check the specific files for comments if I don’t get an email. It would be great to have an option to get a rollup of all your notifications in one email for the day so that I can check for it at the beginning of the day and take action on that feedback all at once. Add as much context as possible (screenshots, Figma files, mockups, etc.) Ask questions to bring the community into the conversation (e.g. Does anyone else experience this? Is anyone using a plugin or workaround to help solve this?, etc.

It would be amazing and so useful if we could make presentations with AI in Figma Slides. Right now I kind of wing it by pasting from make to slides, but the result is messy and it gets messier when exporting to ppt or pdf. This would be a game changer! 

Searching for plugins has become more common in some scenario than built-in features in figma. It would greatly improve workflow if we could add most used plugins to sidebar or have just 1 click away instead of 3click, writing, click. Multiply it X times per day and it become usability inefficiency.Summary of suggestions:add sidebar of plugins plugins are picked by selecting from favorites plugins are 1-click away sidebar is optional and can be turned off or when empty

Our app has right click options but are limited to one click only with Figma. Would anyone else be interested in having right vs left click options for prototyping?

There is currently no way to give Figma Make files a cover thumbnail. For organizations that use thumbnails to help provide visual structure to their Figma work, this is an essential missing piece.
