Hey Figma community 👋I vibe-coded a plugin concept this week and need your help getting it in front of the right people. It's called the Figma Flyswatter. A secret shortcut turns your cursor into a swatter, letting you smack other people's pesky cursors off the screen for a few seconds. Made to add laughter and levity to busy work sessions. The plugin is real and working — multiplayer connection, swing animation, particle explosion, the whole thing. You can see it at figmaflyswatter.com. The catch: it needs a canvas-level cursor API that only Figma can unlock. As a community plugin it's a fun novelty. As a native feature it's a product moment. I would love to make this real. What’s the best way to get it some traction?
I have seen a lot of posts on reddit, linkedin and here all complaining re: Figmas opaque billing practices being so dark pattern-riddled it would put most scam sites to shame. There are countless posts across the web as old as 5 years complaining about this but I’ve yet to see any meaningful change. Adding seats and over-subscribing is way too easy with few guardrails, but reducing your subscription is far more unclear and difficult. What will it take for Figma to actually do something about this? Why is nothing being done?I keep having additional seats added to my plan accidentally. This has happened to my organization at least 3 times now. Every single time I fix the issue I go through the labyrinth of admin billing settings and think I have all my bases covered, but this system seems to be designed explicitly to funnel users into higher billing. The latest is because “Seat approval settings” was set to “Manual unless seat is available” (I had an unused seat, which was added because
Hi community! Dear Figma team, can we have an option to export original image from the image properties menu without using any plugins? I think it could be placed right near the ‘fill’ property or beside ‘Libraries’.It’s a pain to use plugin for this task which a)takes long time to process b)creates unnecessary folder and just really inconvenient when you need to do the job fast. Please review and let me know if it’s even possible to do or is it too complicated? With all respect and a love to the tool and a team,Paul
I was in the process of handling my offboarding and role handover. While managing user permissions, I first removed my own Annual Full Seat access and then assigned an Annual Full Seat to another person. However, when I reviewed the billing, I noticed that I was still charged a billing adjustment for Monthly seats. After checking multiple times, I found that I still had individual edit access to a project within the team, which resulted in a charge of $10.32.I would like to request that Figma revoke this unexpected charge caused by my accidental operation.
Love the basic set available, but let’s be honest — how often will we get new music? Why not just let me upload my own jams? Like this AI Theme Song I made to pump up the team before our semi-regular Design Workshops…
Using Claude Code connected to the Figma MCP Server, when asked to implement a screen with various different buttons, only some of the buttons were implemented as pressable (as buttons). Although the buttons looks different, they all had default and pressed variants and had the word button somewhere in the name. Looking into this further, Claude Code reported back that, “The MCP tool's code generation is inconsistent — it renders full state branching for some components and only default-state code for others, depending on how complex the Figma component is.”Question is, why is the Figma MCP Server not generating the full code, and is there anything that can be done on the Figma side to help with this?
When we’re voting in Figjam, it would be great if there was a way to “undo” or remove a vote if you change your mind, before hitting “I’m done.”It’s easy to go through a list of stickies, slap some votes down as you go, and then read further and think “oh shoot I should have saved a vote for this one!” But it’s too late.It could give an unfair advantage to items at the top-left corner of a list, where users tend to start.Especially when we’re collaborating with a wide group of people, not everyone is familiar with Figjam so it’s even easier to make mistakes.I understand if hitting “I’m done” would lock in your votes, but giving users a chance to change their mind beforehand would result in better… results ;P
As a Figma Enterprise admin I want to allow only specific groups to use paid credits access. I can set this manually, but as new employees are added to the platform continuously I want to be able to set a default value for this setting.
Hi all, I have passed a rather large project over to my development team and they have asked to see the grid information. I can’t for the life of me find it in the dev mode screen. I have had to send them information from screenshots in the design mode. Is there a way for the devs to see this information? Or is this something thats coming later down the line as an update? Thanks Simon
Currently in the code connect preview modal, the dark/light mode toggle is only a background color override for visibility rather than a trigger for the component's internal logic. It would be much better if we could specify and link the component variant (e.g., Light/Dark) directly within the 'Connect to Code' configuration. The current behavior creates confusion as to whether users are seeing the actual mapped variant or just a default state on a different background.
I would like to request an improvement. When I need to replicate more items in an autolayout using the AI drag feature, I usually need to count how many items I need to replicate. Just add a box on click for the quantity if possible, thank you very much!
Hello, My iOS/Android engineers often ask me if a text should get an ellipsis or not. The question could be answered if the ellipsis property was displayed in the SwitfUI and Compose layer properties, in Dev Mode. In this example I have an ellipsis with 1 max line, but it’s not displayed anywhere. Thanks for considering it,Théo
Feature Request: Batch Individual Auto LayoutApply Auto Layout to multiple selected items as individual frames rather than grouping them into a single parent frame. Current Format: Pressing Shift + A or selecting "Add Auto Layout" with multiple items selected automatically nests all items into one new Auto Layout frame. Proposed Enhancement: Introduce a modifier key (e.g., Shift + Alt + A) or a toggle in the Auto Layout panel that allows users to "Apply individually." This would wrap each selected layer in its own independent Auto Layout frame simultaneously. Benefits: Massively speeds up workflow: Eliminates the need to manually wrap 10+ items one by one. Maintains Layer Hierarchy: Prevents accidental nesting and unnecessary "Frame 1, Frame 2" group structures. Consistency: Makes it easier to apply uniform padding and alignment settings across different UI elements at once.
This is a small nit but please...i’m sure this was made for someone but can there be an option to make it so this button never appears? it adds an additional click, which is so annoying when i am trying to click between to components i am trying to compare the settings inside to. PLUS there is nothing below it! I’m all for whitespace but minimalism that adds work is worse.
While using Figma, I frequently switch between 2–3 high-frequency plugins. However, the current workflow is inefficient: each time I need to open the plugin panel (via the icon or shortcut), switch to the “Plugins/Widgets” tab, and search through the list to find the desired plugin.I would like to have a “pinned plugins” area that allows quick access to frequently used plugins directly within the workspace.Suggestions: Allow users to pin or favorite plugins Keep pinned plugins persistently visible in the workspace Optionally provide smart recommendations based on usage patterns The core need is to enable users to customize and fix their most-used plugins for faster and more efficient access.
Right now, I’m loving slots. They’re great and exactly what I’ve been missing, but there is one quark that is causing me extra time.I’d love to be able to prescribe a child height/width behaviour for any elements that are added to the slot. I’d love to be able to say “I want any child added to this slot to have width property set to fill by default.”An example where this is annoying. Right now, anytime I drop a container in a slot in my modal component, the I have to prescribe the height/width behaviour for the container instead of it snapping into place in the available space. In Menus, every time I add a new menu item or a divider or a heading, I need to select them all and say their width should be set to “Fill”. Its a small thing, but it adds up over time.
This topic has been apparently discussed before, but i want to make a post to emphasize the importance of this issue. Detaching nested components inside components, breaks all overrides on the parent component instances. I claim this is a major problem, as it makes it really hard to migrate a design system to use properties instead of a vast amount of variants. As an example, i work in a large company, that a lot of materials in Figma. The design system has been initially created a vouple of years ago, and at that point, we had to rely a lot on component variants that very often utilize nested component instances. Now with the new Figma properties, and the apparently upcoming improvements on them, i could quite easily reduce the amount of variants by 80% in general, and make the components much more simple and foolproof. However it would require detaching a lot of the nested components, but it is practically impossible to do that, as there are hundreds or even thousands of instances th
I love Figma, and it’s the first tool I open every day. Recently, I have been getting a figma session time out error every day. My teammates has reported the same. It’s making me login via Browser (SSO login) every single day for the past 2-3 weeks. It’s not been the most delightful way to start my day, as the first thing I do as a product designer is to open Figma. It use to just work. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Thank you!
I work in a file that contains an Extended Collection (“{MyBrand A} | Design Tokens”) of a variable collection from another file (“Light | Design Tokens”) - the core file. We have multiple (n) Brands: meaning n files with Extended Collections. The text styles reference variables, and the text styles are also defined in the core file.In my example, the font style typography / block / regular / 0 originally has a font size of 12px, but in the Extended Collection it is changed to a 14px font size.Extended Collection showing, that the text style has a overwritten font-size of “14px” When I have texts that use the text styles, the text style(s) in the right panel still shows the original px value for the font sizes and line heights and not the values from the Extended Collection. Text style still shows the “12px” value from the core file, even while actually “using” the 14px valueThe text styles otherwise work correctly, the value actually used is the value from the Extended Collection. It’s
This is a feature comment specifically for Slides, but I believe it applies to Figma and FigJam too. When I send a Slides presentation to a client, there is no way to hide my presenter notes or all the comments from me and my team. So before sending I have to be sure to delete all my presenter notes and comments which are only meant to be seen internally.I would love to not have to do this so I can keep internal comments and presenter notes for reference. Would be great if when sharing externally I can choose to hide comments and speaker notes so they can’t see them.
I recently started using Figma Sites. I love the freedom and virtually endless creative choices I can make. I also know that Figma Sites is still in Beta. However, I’d love to see improvements to CMS - categories, search function and so on. Thank you for making a product that’s easy to use and enjoyable to use.
Despite several similar posts already existing on the forum, Figma still lacks a convenient way to export all files belonging to a Project or Team. I’m trying to move all my files from my personal Figma account to the new workspace set up by my employer (where everything should belong), and I’m currently using the `figma-export` CLI utility available on Github, but that doesn’t help me get around the 50-item rate limit, so now I’m stuck waiting 48 hours until I can download more unless I want to sit there and manually download each file one by one, which is an incredible waste of time. While this may not be something we need every day, when we do need it and it’s not available it’s incredibly frustrating. If you’re seeing this and have found yourself in a similar situation (or there is even the remote possibility that you might someday need to do the same thing), please upvote for awareness.
Hi, Would be nice to have quick access to the spacing variables for auto-layout when you click on space in between objects. Please see the screenshot for more details on what I meant 😃
Overlay positions need per-side offset values — manual dragging breaks consistency across every screenAll 8 presets and the Manual position snap with zero spacing. There is no stored offset value — just a drag that has to be repeated on every screen.---THE PROBLEMWhen I use an overlay across multiple screens in a prototype, I pick a position preset from the dropdown. But the overlay snaps with zero spacing — no gap from the edge. So I manually drag it to add breathing room. That works for one screen. But the moment I duplicate that screen or add a new one, I have to manually nudge the overlay all over again.Every screen ends up with a slightly different overlay position. There's no way to guarantee the overlay sits exactly 24px from the top on screen 1, screen 5, and screen 12 — because that value lives nowhere. It's just a manual drag, repeated forever. This applies to every option in the position dropdown — Top left, Top center, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom center, Bottom right, Ce
Is this feature sensitive? i can't apply this feature by myself, only the manager can do? why has to be the manager can do? Is it release for all users in the future?
