I have defined a variable as some type (for example, String variable Fee amount = 25000) , and if I want to switch the type to another (String to a number variable of 25000), I can’t do it currently. I have to delete the first defined variable first and then create another variable with the desired variable type.

Is there currently a way to set a component boolean property = a variable? Having this feature would allow creating a set variable interaction that toggles the boolean variable. Alternatively, add an interaction action that is “Set Property Value”, where you can select a property and select a value from that property to change with the interaction. It would also be useful if using an interaction you could set a variable = value of another variable.

I see where someone requested a prototype for an Android smart watch but the topic was closed. Still only see Apple Watch in prototypes. Would be nice to have some options. Please advise if this is on the roadmap and when, if at all, it will be delivered.

Its good to indicate typo error in comment input box but for solve that, Please enable right click in comment input box so commenter can improve their typo errors.

My company issues virtual credit cards that are either monthly or annual. Your billing process charges a fee annually, as well as every month so I need to charge those to different payment methods, but I can’t see a way to add more than one in my settings. I really don’t want to have to deal with having to remember to come in and change a payment method for the annual fee. Could you please make it possible to use multiple payment methods?

Hello there ! Here what I discovered recently: you have a component Apply an instance swap property on a placeholder in your component. Apply variables on your placeholder. Create an instance of your component. Use the instance swap properties to select the component of your choice. Then variables are not anymore applied on your swap component instance. So I know in some ways it is logical. I applied variables on my placeholder, not on the instance of the component choosed through the instance swap property. And I know how to resolve this problem in another way. But anyway it could be very interesting to be able to pass constraint/variables of my placeholder to all other component’s instances when I use an instance swap property. Cheers, Xavier.

Hey everyone, today I had to use the asset/component explorer a bit more than usually and I got very annoyed about how the folders are structured and displayed within it. Overall I tried to rethink how folders can be implemented more user friendly in the visual flow of the explorer. Currently the user has to navigate a lot when trying to enter different folders. Also the whole explorer looks messy when there are a lot of component and folders mixed. In the top explorer (second image) the folders are also not sorted within the A to Z structure which makes sense cause that would make things even more messy but it’s still not the best approach in my opinion. I know that the examples I provided might be a bit tricky when there are 3 or more nested folders. Here are examples how something like this could look like. Thank you and best, Sascha

After searching for Figma, you can delete/move/copy files. I often use search among numerous design files. However, when you find a file through a folder directory, you can delete/move/copy it, but this function is not available in the search results. This difference in functionality causes numerous inconveniences. Is there anyone who agrees with my opinion? I hope this feature gets improved.

I’m not sure how about you, but I feel that a design tool should let me import an image that is longer than 4096px. What do you think?

The only way a user can organize their pages in a file is by dragging, this is actually quite hard to do when you have lots pages and takes a lot of time.(very slow) If there was a separate page I could open and manage my pages would be amazing. Inspo maybe could come from Bookmarks Manager imbedded in Google Chrome.

Bring the voting feature into Figma. My design team often does dot voting while workshopping designs inside Figma. The vote tool in FigJam is great but I don’t want to have to make the whole team jump over to another file just to vote.

It would be wonderful to be able to add video files. I am holding a critique and screenshots are good but I want my team to be able to watch the recording of the experience for even more insight.

To select a deeply nested element, I don’t want to have to double click a bunch of times, nor do I want to command click and then navigate back up the hierarchy. My solution would be to select the parent frame on first click. Then on second click, select whatever child element my cursor is on. If it’s a component, select the component itself instead of some constituent element of the component.

When copy/pasting in Figma, the item being pasted lands, by default, on the item that was copied. If the item is off-screen it pastes, by default, into the centre of the viewable area. Neither of these interactions is optimal. Ideally, items should paste to where your cursor is located, in the same manner as Miro behaves.

I’d love to be able to create low-fidelity mockups with a first-party basic prototyping kit built in to FigJam. Something with buttons, toggles, checkboxes, etc. I use FigJam a lot for sketching, but it gets to a point where a slightly more robust toolset would be helpful before going into designing things fully in Figma.

Hay Figma, Could you create a guide feature which allows sub-columns within the layout column? Generally, a column defines the outside edge of a block. But then the internal content elements within this block are margined within the block (e.g. heading, body text, button etc.). These internal elements are manually/mathematically positioned each time when designing/building the page. If there was the ability to apply a secondary sub-column within the standard column - these internal elements could ‘snap’ into position, reducing build time. Just a thought.

Hi, Feature request: It’ll be great when we’re in one mode to be able to change a value in a different mode. Use case: I am using modes to set different attributes of sub-components of a parent component. However, when I click on a sub-component (Mode) I would want to be able to change the values of another sub-component (Mode).

It would be great to be able to store the files we share within one of our projects, without being the owner of the file. At the moment, if you don’t own the file, you can’t put it away…

I wish I could hold down something like control, option, command, and/or shift when dragging to KEEP the dragged layers position in the layer list. This would be a huge benefit!

Encourage us to be careful, optimize our images, keep files light, delete unnecessary files, etc. 🍃 The first step would be to know how big our working files are. It would be great if Figma had a way to automate, curate, and provide data visualization to Figma library analytics each month without the need for API integration to pull to a website. It would be helpful to have comparison data from month to month as well as a tool that could create reporting for managers such as a PDF export. This could be a part of Figma in a viewable area where you have the opportunity to configure the libraries and properties you collect data on or a plugin that automates this process in a similar manner.

I have been trying to figure out how to do this but I don’t think its possible. How great would it be to be able to reference the colour style of a nested component and have that be applied across the new component. This would mean that you don’t need to design a huge amount of variants to just change the text colour. Rather you change the nested component (which already has a number of icon and colour changes) which has colour styles baked in, then the text layer references that colour style and updates automatically.

Pls incorporate an animated keystrokes feature during prototyping? It would be so nice to record videos or GIFs of simulated user input, especially given the growing prominence of AI chat design experiences.

Would love the ability to have a single page live within two files. Sometimes I have a page with items where they could potentially live in a few different files. Right now, I’m just using a widget to link to the other pages, but would love if a page could sync across multiple files. Kind of reminds me of how instead of folders in Gmail, you use tags, so you can tag a single email with multiple relevant tags. I want something like this for pages.

It would be very helpful to sort Figma files by File Owner or “My Files”.
